The letters of Saint Paul frequently contain nuances that we can easily overlook. He is a master of making his point by using both eloquent and well-crafted points. Therefore, to really get to the richness of what he is saying we must read his words very carefully. Support the show
If we were to ask God for anything, what would we ask for?If we have health issues, we would want to be cured. If we do not have a job, we would want help finding one. If we were going through a personal difficulty or tragedy, we would want some Divine assistance... Support the show

Today’s Gospel focuses on two sets of brothers, Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John, who leave their fishing nets and their father to follow Jesus.Every Sunday we read passages from the Bible and our prayers are composed of verses from the Old and New Testaments because we believe the Bible helps us celebrate all that God has done for us and it is also a guide for our daily life. Therefore, was relevant in the past, and it is relevant in the present and will remain relevant for all time. Support the show
God Made You a Saint.

God Made You a Saint.

Today, on the Sunday after Pentecost we celebrate the Sunday of all the Saints. We heard in the letter to the Hebrews why some are considered “Saints.” “The saints who through faith … enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, [34] quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, … Some were tortured …  Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. [37] They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated” (Hebrews 11:33-37). ...Support the show
Some of the words we use in Church sound fancy because they are not part of our day-to-day conversations, and they are often rooted in three main languages:-Hebrew, where we get words like Alleluia (praise the Lord) and Amen (so be it, literally: for sure.).-Greek, where we get words like Liturgy (work of the people) and Kyrie eleison (Lord have mercy)-Latin, where we get words like Pope (father) and Creed (Credo: I believe)... Support the show
Has someone ever asked you: “Are you Catholic or are you Christian?” “Are you saved?” “Why do Catholics baptize children?” or other faith-related questions? If so, do you feel comfortable answering these and other questions related to your faith? You should, because in his first letter, Saint Peter says: “Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). If there is hope in us, then we need to be able to speak about that hope comfortably and convincingly...Support the show
Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers. The word “mother” is one of the most beautiful words in every language of the world. “Mama” is also one of the first words any child says. As well, the word mother is one of the first words in the Bible because the word “mother” refers to a person, but also implies the creation of a child that is connected to a lifetime relationship that a man and a woman commit to each other. This relationship flows from the gift of God and mirrors God’s love for us... Support the show
Christ is Risen. He is Truly Risen. On this second Sunday after Easter, we continue to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. In last week’s Gospel Jesus appeared to the apostles and Saint Thomas. Today’s Gospel focuses on the women who went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’s body... Support the show

One of the most annoying things is when someone tells you “I told you so.”This phrase sounds so condescending and it makes it seems that the person saying it knows so much more than you and wants to rub in some past advice. Support the show

In one way or another, you prepared for almost everything you did this week. Before you went to school, work, or came to Church, you prepared your clothes, you prepared what you were going to do, and you even prepared your thoughts to make sure you were in the right frame of mind. Support the show
With tears, the father of the boy said: “I do believe, help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24). Before the man in today’s Gospel said this, he left the crowd and went to Jesus’s disciples so they can heal his son... Support the show
Sometimes people say that religion in general and even Christianity is out of date. However, the closer we study and reflect on the words of Jesus the more we realize that the most recent developments in mental health, emotional intelligence, and other psychological fields affirm the basic teachings of Jesus Christ... Support the show
How many miracles did Jesus do in today’s Gospel? You may say one, to refer to Jesus healing the paralyzed man. Perhaps two, since Jesus also forgave this man’s sins. But are there at least three, if not more miracles in today’s Gospel? Support the show
I have a theory that if you fast from certain kinds of food, like meat or dairy, or if you decide to give up something else for Lent, like chocolate or music, you will not immediately die. I am not sure if this theory is accurate, so I need your help... Support the show
