Dr. Scott Strosnider sits down with the dynamic duo - Matt and Tara Gaines. They discuss where they have been and what they've been up to, how they got started, the horses they have had, and how they are so successful together. 

Dr. Scott Strosnider sits down with Paden Bray to discuss growing up down the road from BVEH, his parents, Ken and Billie Bray, partner Erich Rogers, his first NFR, staying motivated, and the great horses that he has had along the way. 

We recently connected with Photographer, Richard Sharum via his current project "Spina Americana". Spina Americana is a new project where Richard is examining life in through the central United States within a 100 mi swath of land from the US-Mexico border all the way up to the Canadian border. Dr. Scott Strosnider visited with Richard to discuss his newest project and how he found BVEH.

Dr. Scott Strosnider sits down with Dr. Amanda  Plunkett, our newest staff surgeon.  Growing up on the family ranch in Northern California, Amanda was very involved with 4-H from a young age. Her family raised quarter horses, cattle, and show sheep. With a background in the agricultural, livestock, and horse industries, Amanda was always surrounded by people who were passionate about their careers and made their work their lifestyle, being fortunate to have many friends who were veterinarians and mentors inspired her to become an equine veterinarian. Amanda attended UC Davis for veterinary school and completed her internship at Comstock Equine Hospital in Reno, Nevada. Following her internship, Amanda completed a three-year equine surgical residency at Oklahoma State University. Joining BVEH in the fall of 2020, Amanda is excited to explore her professional interests including soft tissue surgery, non-invasive surgery, critical care, lameness, and sports medicine.

Dr. Scott Strosnider sits down with Stephenville's newest board-certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Andrew Willis.  Although an Oklahoma native, Andrew knew nothing about horses when he began working on a beef cattle ranch at the young age of 14. In four and half years he worked his way up to processing and doctoring wheat pasture cattle and dragging calves. This led to finding his way into rodeo – both team roping and calf roping, and eventually cutting while working for a cutting horse trainer before attending vet school at Oklahoma State University. Andrew always thought he wanted to be a mixed practice veterinarian, until he spent a day with Dr. Todd Holbrook during his mini-clinics rotations. After witnessing Dr. Holbrook evaluate a critical patient, Andrew knew that he wanted to practice equine medicine, telling Dr. Holbrook, “I want to do what you do!” Nominated by Dr. Holbrook, Andrew was awarded the Zoetis Equine Scholarship Award for an externship, and chose BVEH. From that point on, Andrew says being a part of BVEH has been about ten years in the making as he had kept in touch with BVEH after the externship while finishing veterinary school. Andrew is most passionate about providing exceptional patient care to internal medicine cases and those in critical condition.

Dr. Scott Strosnider visits with Salado's newest associate Veterinarian, Wil Moorhead. Wil always knew he wanted to be an equine veterinarian, and never considered anything else. Prior to graduating from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, he first found BVEH for an externship in 2018, he returned in 2019 for a yearlong internship in Salado. Upon completion, he decided to call BVEH home. Welcome, Dr. Wil Moorhead!
