The Future of Government

A few months ago, I had the chance to interview Prof. Dan Ariely on the stage of the 5th Public Sector Innovation Week. I have been kindly authorized to reproduce this content here, so what you will hear in this episode is a slightly edited version of the interview that took place in this event.If  you have ever read about behavioural economics, you certainly know who Prof. Dan Ariely is and what he represents. He's been acknowledged by Bloomberg as one of Top 50 Most Influential Thinkers of out time. He is currently the James B. Duke Professor of Psychology & Behavioral Economics at Duke University. Prof. Ariely is also a founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight, co-founder of Kayma Labs, and a three-time New York Times bestselling author. His books include Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality and The Honest Truth About Dishonesty.In this episode, we start discussing the idea of trust, which is such a central subject is his works, and then move on to topics such as the ethics of behavioural experiments, challenges for this approach to become more widespread in policymaking and examples of initiatives he is currently conducting in partnership with the Israeli government. All credits for the interview material attributable to the event organizer: Escola Nacional de Administração Pública (Enap).
