Love Does Not Beat Me

Love Does Not Beat Me

2020-10-1632:25

Thank you for tuning in on the third season of the Hot but Bothered podcast. On this episode we are talking about #domesticviolenceawareness and it is a subject that should be talked about all year. Love does not hurt nor does it beat us, belittle us, or make us feel unsafe. First Corinthians, 13th chapter, and verses four through seven states what love is and how it should be shown in action. We encourage you to seek help if you are in a domestic violence situation. If you are an abuser, we pray you seek help, too. We love to empower, educate, and encourage other people to not be afraid to believe that all things are possible through God in their marriage or single life. Every marriage isn't perfect, but it can be perfected through Him if we take the back seat and let Him drive. Single life isn't always enjoyable, especially when you desire to be married, but you can still be joyful and content. Your Boaz or Ruth is out there, stay strong and never stop believing. On another note, if you are an avid reader of Christian Fiction books, may I suggest the eBook, Anything She Says. A good read. It can be purchased at any online bookstore for 99 cents. Paperbacks are also available. Also, if you have a story to tell, questions to ask, or a commerical you would like to broadcast on our podcast, email us at hotbutbotheredpodcast@gmail.com  Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/tyrarowell)
Love Jam Throwdown

Love Jam Throwdown

2020-10-0922:20

Thank you for tuning in on the third season of the Hot but Bothered podcast. On this episode we are talking about Jeffrey's hot issue from the last episode when I mention he done played out Smokey Robinson's songs. He challenged me to a love jam throwdown, picking my favorite three love songs against his three favorites. But he insisted we read the lyrics instead of playing the music because it was the lyrics that made him a fan of Smokey Robinson's songs back in the day. WE DO NOT OWN THE COPYRIGHTS TO ANY OF THESE SONGS OR LYRICS WRITTEN BY THE ARTISTS WE MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE.We love to empower, educate, and encourage other people to not be afraid to believe that all things are possible through God in their marriage or single life. Dysfunctional Families

Dysfunctional Families

2020-03-0639:50

Thank you for tuning in on the third season of the Hot but Bothered podcast. The topic for this season is Dysfunctional Families. Proverbs 4:23 states, "Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life." We all have issues of life that can cause dysfunctional behaviors, if we allow it to overtake us. Every episode in this season, we will be discussing a different type of dysfunction. On this episode, we are talking about dysfunction in the first family of the Bible - Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel. Why are we discussing this? Because we want to encourage others to get help and deal with their issues of life before it overtakes them. Also, some people may not know why they act the way they do and don't know how to get out of the wilderness. This is a platform to have open discussions about issues that are being swept under the rug and it's time out for all that. For every why, there is a how. Does dysfunctional mean you’re a bad person? No. It means you can change. It means you can be the change you want and desire to see. But you have to believe you can. You have to be willing to get rid of the dysfunction that is happening in your life. You can be transformed by changing your thinking, but it is entirely up to you to change your own mind. No one can do that for you. At the end of the day, you are the one to make the choice to choose which you will yield to; the will of God or your own will. You can’t choose them both at same time. Light doesn’t coexist with darkness. Holy doesn’t coexist with dysfunction. It’s one or the other. On another note, if you are an avid reader of Christian Fiction books, may I suggest the eBook, Anything She Says. It can be purchased at any online bookstore for 99 cents. This is the last episode for Season 1 and we want to talk about the lie about men crying is a sign of weakness. Our men hurt just like everyone else. They should be able to show vulnerability and talk out their issues. Life is hard and the last thing our men need is being judged for speaking their truths. And parents, stop teaching your sons this same lie because it's far from the truth. Internalizing feelings leads to self-destruction. Our healing begins with our mouth talking out our deepest thoughts and issues with the right person. Let 2020 be the year you tear down toxic thoughts and be healed of old wounds. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Subscribe to our podcast so you won't miss Season 2! This episode entails our opinion on sex being obligated in a marriage. We discussed our opinion from the Message version of 1 Corinthians the 7th chapter in the Bible. "Now, getting down to the questions you asked in your letter to me. First, Is it a good thing to have sexual relations? Certainly—but only within a certain context. It’s good for a man to have a wife, and for a woman to have a husband. Sexual drives are strong, but marriage is strong enough to contain them and provide for a balanced and fulfilling sexual life in a world of sexual disorder. The marriage bed must be a place of mutuality—the husband seeking to satisfy his wife, the wife seeking to satisfy her husband. Marriage is not a place to “stand up for your rights.” Marriage is a decision to serve the other, whether in bed or out. Abstaining from sex is permissible for a period of time if you both agree to it, and if it’s for the purposes of prayer and fasting—but only for such times. Then come back together again. Satan has an ingenious way of tempting us when we least expect it. I’m not, understand, commanding these periods of abstinence—only providing my best counsel if you should choose them."We would love to hear your opinion about this topic.
