This week I am excited to have Jeremy on the podcast. Jeremy is a pastor of a church in the south that was recently forced to leave the SBC due to their church being LGBTQ+ affirming. Jeremy shares about his own journey growing up in the conservative evangelical world and what led to where he is now with his church and what has come from that. You can find him online on Facebook and Twitter under @yesimthatjeremy and TikTok under @PastorJeremyKennesaw. You can find out more about him and what he's up to by heading to his website https://www.revjeremyhall.com J02f6GpDXSaqNH3Iff2X --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
It was a such a joy to be able to sit down and discuss the Eastern Orthodox Church with my friend Father Andrew Jarmus. We discuss the history of the Orthodox Church, how it arrived in the United States, and discussed a few of the things that you may either have questions about yourself or may not have even known about. Fr Jarmus was patient and I am so thankful for his willingness to come on the podcast and hopefully bring more understanding to something that is sometimes so misunderstood. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
So privileged to have my good friend Rebecca on the podcast today. She went above and beyond with her willingness to come on and share her story of going up in fundamental conservative background and the journey that took her to where she is today as an Orthodox Christian. I believe a lot of you will find yourself somewhere within her story and will relate to the questions and doubts that she faced, which will hopefully lead to a feeling of hope and understanding as you are walking out your own journey. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support

This episode I’m thankful for my friend Sarah to come on and be vulnerable about her journey from growing up in a conservative Pentecostal church, going through deconstruction, and what life and faith looks like now. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
Thankful to have my good friend Josh return to the podcast to discuss his process of deconstructing, how it has happened more than once, and how it doesn’t always mean the end of faith. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
Today we are beginning a new season and a new topic: deconstruction. That word can be loaded and feel very daunting, but I believe that it's been made out to be more than it is and turned into an unnecessary fear within the evangelical church. So, take a listen this week as I explain what the season will look like and what goals I have for you, the listener, to get out of these conversations. Remember, deconstruction is not a four letter word. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
Happy to welcome Josh Hawkins back to the podcast, who is no stranger if you're a regular listener, to discuss being a type 9. We are both type 9's, so there is a lot of conversation here about our anger, what it looks like to be in stress, and what we do to get our voices heard and to feel seen. Feel free to share this with anyone you think would benefit from the conversation and don't forget to go out and subscribe, rate, and review on your favorite platform --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support

It was such a great conversation about her growth, how it has strengthened her marriage and friendships, and helped her communication with others. This week we get to talk to Melissa Butterworth about being a type 5. Type 5's are often misunderstood and are perceived to be introverted and intellectual, which can be true, but there's so much more to them than that. How rare are female type 5's? Are all 5's introverts? How do they handle relationships and responsibilities with a limited reserve of energy? Listen in on this conversation to learn about all of this and more about the type 5. So thankful today to have another longtime friend Brooke Hartman on the podcast. This is a great episode not only to hear and understand the type 4 better, but especially for those who may be struggling to discover their type or the type you originally thought you were not settling well. As you'll hear her explain more in the podcast, there are different outside factors that can influence our interpretation of ourselves and sometimes it just takes time to figure it out in a little more depth and understanding. This episode I am so excited to have my longtime friend Justin on the podcast. We’ve known each other for 25 years and we talk about what messages we got about body image and masculinity growing up, the social hierarchy of middle and high school, the church’s lack of diversity in reaching men, and so much more. Today I’m talking to my friend and fellow podcaster Brandon Miller about his passion for researching his family history, what he has learned, and how it has impacted him and his family. (Heads up, for some reason some of the audio isn’t the best on this episode and it has been cleaned up to the best of the ability of those that know what they’re doing - thanks Austin! - but I feel it’s still a valuable conversation worth listening to!) --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support

This week I have a great conversation with my friend Kirk. His wife, Tamar, was a guest a few episodes ago talking about race and racial identity. Today Kirk and I briefly discuss the history of policing, his experience as an officer, and some of the perceptions and perspectives that come together to create volatile situations. It’s a great talk and another voice in this much needed conversation. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebrewedlife/support
