Description

Resilience is about bouncing back after adversity and creating a life you love. After many personal struggles I have worked at finding the key to bouncing back and improving my own personal well being, self love, joy and connection. In this podcast I will talk about the, how to and examples of how others have bounced back from trauma, divorce, loss of job, family breakdown, personal breakdown and lots more. The resilience muscle is what we need to work on and just like any muscle it has to be worked consistently to stay strong. You have to consistently do the work to find your internal power and then you can bounce back from any adversity that life throws at you.

It's that time of year, you know, that time where if you were fortunate to have a break then you at some point will be returning to work, your job, your business your passion hopefully. If you are already back at work and hating it, this message is for you. There are some really simple strategies to help you get ready to return to work or your business without feeling dread. One of the ways is to be sure you have enough rest, and you can feel like you have recharged. I don’t know about you but I reached the end of the year exhausted, fatigued from stress and really need a break, in fact day one of my 2-week break, I got sick, so sick that I couldn’t do anything, this wasn’t a coincidence I can assure you, I probably knew unconsciously that I was going to crash and burn and if I didn’t I would have kept pushing through.2023 was full of amazing opportunities, and great achievements for all and it was also one of the hardest years of my career that I had experienced in some time. You see I had a plan, it was a great plan that would change lives, not only my team's but our client's lives and ensure they can build a better future.  By December I knew I needed a break so I could come back to work fresh and achieve all the plans we have made back in 2023 for 2024/2025.Those of you that have a job and spend every day at work hating it, get a grip, or should I say a new job, you aren’t stuck so stop spending 40 hours a week doing something you hate. If that’s where you are going to stay, then start getting grateful for what you have and so on a daily basis.I am grateful for my job as it …..fill in the blanksEven if you think you hate your job there is always things to be grateful for.Book picks for the month·         Build the life you want – Arthur Brookes and Oprah Winfrey·         Think again – Adam GrantFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion. The Resilience Movement was created to help you find the tools and the determination to have the life you deserve helping you discover not only resilience beyond contemplation, it’s about discovering yourself, and developing self-love and self-worth creating more trust and belief in yourself to thrive in life, let’s face it you only have 1 life make it magical.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theresiliencemovementInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theresiliencemovement/AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE: My podcast episode notes may contain affiliate links, if you purchase something through these links you won’t pay more, however, I may receive a commission that enables me to earn a living, keep the channel going and at times purchase a nice bottle of prosecco to celebrate your awesomeness, thanks for listening.Thank you so much for your support and understanding! Season #8, Episode #5Ladies, It’s your future! Why is there an increase in homelessness for women over the age of 45? Maybe because we didn’t think divorce or separation was possible however, there is a considerable increase in women and children facing homelessness and poverty due to the family breakdown, or a death in the family. The reality is when I was raising children and looking after the home, I wasn’t thinking about my financial future or my career path, I was raising babies.Between 2011-2021 there was an increase of 40% for women facing homelessness and poverty. No matter how young you are or even if you are in your 40’s start thinking about your financial future its never too late. Season #8, Episode #3Menopause, I can see the light. This podcast is in no way advice for what you should do, I am not a medical doctor nor any kind of specialist in menopause, this is only my journey and I want to share hoping you may feel less alone in this journey.  These 2 years of menopause have been horrendous to say the least, from moments of rage, to being in tears in a corporate meeting, I felt like a crazy person. Anxiety hitting me like never before and bouts of such severe depression I wanted to drive my car off the road. After much deliberation and trying everything possible, I have started on estradiol and progesterone, and I feel like a normal person again only after 16 days on the new regime. Now the tablet is the solution it's not a quick fix, it's still up to me to eat well, sleep well, and don’t drink alcohol or if you do it's minimal and only occasionally. I take more vitamins than I thought possible and take magnesium daily.I feel like a walking health food shop, I feel joy again, and I am laughing again (always at myself) and I am pretty certain my family feel like they can breathe around me again. It was truly awful for them just as it was for me.Book picks for the month·         The Galveston Diet – Dr Mary Claire Haver·         Start with Why – Simon SenekFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion. The Resilience Movement was created to help you find the tools and the determination to have the life you deserve helping you discover not only resilience beyond contemplation, it’s about discovering yourself, and developing self love and self worth creating more trust and belief in yourself to thrive in life, lets face it you only have 1 life make it magical.Follow us on:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theresiliencemovementInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theresiliencemovement/AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE: My podcast episode notes may contain affiliate links, if you purchase something through these links you won’t pay more, however I may receive a commission that enables me to earn a living, keep the channel going and at times purchase a nice bottle of prosecco to celebrate you awesome listeners.Thank you so much for your support and understanding! Season #7, Episode #1Self Discovery Occurs in Stillness – Donna MouldsSo excited to start off 2022 and I want to share some of what I do to kick of the year on the right foot. Journaling can be very therapeutic and can help get the crap out of your head and onto the pages where you can decipher what’s happening. The only way to truly reflect and find what is inside is to be alone and still long enough to think about what you really want this one life to look like.I start with reflections on what has gone, not wallowing, simply reflection, I then move into what I am truly grateful for especially looking at the year that has gone what am I most grateful for and I know for some it will be that I am grateful this year is over, and that’s perfect for you.I then start writing my intentions for the up coming year in all aspects of my life, career, family, relationships, all if it. I build a clear picture of my intention so I can cement that and stay on track especially in challenging times.I then look to my future and plan this out and stay aligned to my values.Remember we are all resilient beyond what we contemplate is possible.Book picks for the month·         Set Boundaries, find peace – Nedra Glover Tawwab·         The Arc of Love – Esther PerelFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion. The Resilience Movement was created to help you find the tools and the determination to have the life you deserve helping you discover not only resilience beyond contemplation, it’s about discovering yourself, and developing self love and self worth creating more trust and belief in yourself to thrive in life, lets face it you only have 1 life make it magical.Follow us on:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theresiliencemovementInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theresiliencemovement/Website: www.theresiliencemovement.com.au Support the show
You may be curious about the title, however I want to remind you that we have stepped through a lot over the past 2 years and 2022 is just around the corner, so its time to step though with a plan. We all know plans aren't always set in stone but that doesn't mean we should make big plans. We know from the research that news years resolutions don't work, so STOP IT! It has been proven they don't last more than 7 days in most cases, however goals/plans with a timeline and actions steps do work and also keep you focused. Here are my tips on how you can start the year with a plan you can make come to fruition.ReflectionHow was the year that has passed? What can you learn from? What are you happy with? What do you want to change?RechargeTime outSelf careLaughter/Fun/familyResetWhat do you want for your life in the future? What do you want for your family? What do you want for your business/careerPlanTake the time to dream about what you want life to look like, feel like.Set some goals with clear timelines and milestones that provide evidence of your progress toward what you want.Support the show
Right now here in Australia we are going through another lock down and its easy to get caught up in the crazy negative spiral, however I want you to think about what you can control and how you can fill your own cup to stay in a better frame of mind."Freedom is of the mind" is something Archie Williams said when he was asked how he survived being locked away, incarcerated for 37 years of his life, falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit. he used music to see light in the darknessIn this podcast I want to remind you of what you can control, the choices you can still make regardless of what other people are doing and decisions that are being made and are directly impacting you and your loved one's. I want you to think about how you can take care of your own mental health, fill your own cup and how you can still be grateful for those little things that can make a big difference. My hope is that you will see light in the darkness.Support the show

Episode NotesSeason #5, Episode #8A Subtle ShiftI describe a shift as a subtle shift, a shift in perspective that can lead to change, for example a shift in your language, a shift in your actions, sometimes it’s a significant shift but I think mostly its subtle and when you make a few subtle changes this can have a significant impact on your life. Think about this if you make a subtle change in the amount of food you eat you will have a change, eat less junk food, you may have weight loss, eat more junk food you may have weight gain, exercise more you will have greater fitness and exercise less and you will have a decline in your fitness, you get the point. And never forget Resilience is accessible to everyone!Book picks for the month·         Burnout – Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski·         The One Thing – Gary Keller and Jay Papasan·         The Choice – Edith Edgar Follow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion.Donna has resiliently bounced back from 3 Divorces, domestic violence and a breakdown after her Son was incarcerated for the first time in 2017 after his ICE addiction took over his life. Episode NotesSeason #5, Episode #7TraumaCollective TraumaThis chapter was going to be called “When you don’t heal your past, it bites you on the ass”. Instead it’s a more appropriately titled “Trauma” and I am very passionate about this chapter, all that I have learned from my own experiences and other research from real experts such a Brene Brown, clearly proves how we must heal trauma if we want to move into the future with our hearts and minds wide open. Trauma can be deep inside even if you don’t see it and feel it all the time, if you haven’t healed it it’s still there and will come up again and again until you do. From my own experience it comes up when you least expect it. One of my friends once told me that the Universe will only give you what you can handle. To be honest I never really saw how the collective trauma had accumulated over time until a really big event in 2009 and then another significant event in 2017. When I look back I have had many significant events that I had ignored the process of healing and at a time where I was dealing with some challenges it all came up at once, that also led to overreacting to an event that may not seemed significant but it was again the collective trauma that comes up and compounded. And never forget Resilience is accessible to everyone!Book picks for the month·         Burnout – Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski·         The One Thing – Gary Keller and Jay Papasan·         The Choice – Edith EdgarFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion.Donna has resiliently bounced back from 3 Divorces, domestic violence and a breakdown after her Son was incarcerated for the first time in 2017 after his ICE addiction took over his life.
