This was an incredible episode! Hearing about how Scott Pittman tapped into the talent of board members and real estate related firms to help expand Mount Sinai's COVID 19 treatment capacity by 400 beds, which would typically take several months under normal circumstances. He also discussed how he looked to board members for advice, and they stepped up and responded to the crisis. Board members took individual talents and resources to support the hospital, going above and beyond what what board members typically do. As a result, Mount Sinai was able to get some of the PPE equipment from China to frontline workers! Other board members used resources to provide food, lodging, and child care facilities for employees. This helped create a support net for Mount Sinai employees and make sure their personal needs were being met. It was incredible what they were able to accomplish in such difficult circumstances.
