Hey everyone, I watched the George Floyd funeral and I'd be lying to say I wasn't crying. His life was one of a million stories and I'm doubtful that things will change in a significant way. While I'm trying to be optimistic, I'm not right now and it may take some time for me to be. But in the mean time, there are some huge things happening, the XFL will be auctioned off, the NBA and the NHL will return, and the NFL is playing how to play football during a pandemic. I honestly couldn't bring myself in good conscience to ignore what is going on because at the end of the day, I am an African American woman. I wouldn't want anyone to ignore mine or potentially even my future child's suffering. It is not fit to be silent in the midst of suffering and I am no exception to the rule.
