This podcast covers all the fun things you can do just outside of Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks. We then cover Teton hikes that are totally suitable for small kids with fantastic views of the Tetons and also tell you the hikes you should  avoid. Then we cover the best of the best day hikes in Yellowstone where you can get off the beaten path and away from all the crowds and explore some of the best hot pools and geysers in the Yellowstone backcountry where you will have the entire place to yourself and most of these great spots are not shown on any maps. And you will be in spots that less than 100 visitors have been since the inception of the park in 1872!We then cover longer and overnight hikes in Yellowstone and then cover the beautiful Bechler Region of Yellowstone also known as the Cascade Corner section of the park where 80% of the parks waterfalls are located and where you can soak in a hot pot all afternoon at the base of a huge waterfall or swim in Mr. Bubbles, the largest natural hot pot in the park. I then get you to a spot where you can swim in a hot stream after you got soaked at the base of Union Falls which is the largest double falls on earth and is the cover shot for the guidebook. I cover what maps you will need and how to reserve a backcountry campsite and tell you the best ones to get and where to hike when most of the park might be snowed in and I also give you a bunch of hikes which are suitable for small children who are big hikers. I even cover some outer edge hikes that are still in Yellowstone Park but are located where you don't have to enter the main park gates and fight all the traffic and crowds just to do a bit of day hiking. I even cover the best hikes where you can take you dog along with you. This is a big podcast but I only cover the best of the best hikes in both parks and get you to some truly remarkable places where you can Explore Yellowstone and Grand Teton like a local!!

This podcast starts at the rather boring Tower Junction which is home to the rather fun Chuckwagon Dinner that starts at the Roosevelt Stables. We then drive through the Narrows on the way to Tower Falls and I tell you how to not only see the falls but about the crazy boulder that used to sit it's summit and then how to access the Yellowstone River from the viewing platform that hardly anyone knows about in the guidebook. We then continue along the North Loop and summit Mount Washburn and I tell you where NOT to hike as well as where you SHOULD hike in this area on a great hike the a is one of the best for small kids. And as usual, I throw in a couple of short stories about sleeping with an Elk and skateboarding down Dunraven Pass before I tell you where you can find the elusive Moose like they were let out of a pen in the evening.

We also discuss how the Roaring Springs Swimming Area is now gone and how the guidebook has all the places you CAN go Swimming and Hot Potting in the Park. This 18 mile section of road is also known as Bear Alley and is the best place to see black bears in the park and I will tell you when is the best places to see them and also give you a couple of other options just in case they are not on the main road. I also tell you about a  great place to see a bear out in the backcountry which is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your trip to Yellowstone on a great trail and a place where you can see a Pika which looks like Mickey Mouse. And even if you get shut out seeing a bear in Yellowstone and your kids are freaking out to see a bear, I tell you how to get them off your back with a 100% guaranteed way to see, not only bear, but wolves, eagles and even thrown in some Otters for good measure. And as usual, I throw in a couple of stories for you guys as you drive along and a good lesson for those newbies to park off the roads.

This podcast covers the section of road between Norris Geyser Basin and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone Park which is home to the most awe inspiring thing in the park, the Lower Falls which sits in the namesake canyon for Yellowstone Park. There is not much to see along this short section of road but we do see the gorgeous Virginia Cascades along the way and discuss a few great hikes for kids and where you can find the elusive Bullwinkle the Moose. Plus we hear a great story about 2 kids from Italy walking behind a monster Grizzly Bear like it was a pet on a leash. When we get to the Canyon Area, we discuss how the guidebook gets you to all the best stops in the Canyon area at the RIGHT TIME so we stay ahead of all the other tourists as we see everything there is to see in this wonderful area. I also tell you about a park visitor who I met at Artist Point who had been in the park and didn't believe that I could get her to the best spots without anyone else around. We also discuss how the guidebook gets you to the actual place Thomas Moran painted his famous painting and its NOT Artist Point. We also cover what may very well be the best hike in all of Yellowstone which surprisingly enough, rarely has a lot of people on it with amazing views of the canyon and gets you right down next to the surging and beautiful Yellowstone River. And as usual, I tell you some fun stories along the way.
This podcast covers the 14 mile section of road from Madison Junction to Norris Geyser Basin which is home to Steamboat Geyser which USED to be the largest geyser on the planet. Along the way I will tell you about a rather interesting car wreck as well as 3 great hikes. The first is right to the base of Gibbon Falls where the trail actually goes into the river in spots and where you can have the warm waters of Gibbon Falls cascading down all over you as well as a great swimming & fishing spot right at the base of the falls. I then describe to you the Gibbon Meadow backcountry geyser area where you will find all sorts of colored pools, mud pots, fumaroles and geyser pools that erupt constantly. This area is truly in the backcountry but is only a short hike from your car and is a truly hidden gem in Yellowstone that less than a hundred people have seen since the inception of the park in 1872 and gets you to the beautiful Evening Primrose Spring. I then tell you about a great hike that is suitable for even the smallest hiker in your group and when you should do it. I will also tell you about a really interesting and somewhat weird spot along the Gibbon River that is only 20' from the road but is hidden by trees so hardly anyone knows its there where you can find the only active "needle" in the park as well as some of the oddest rocks in the river that you can get right in the river for a nice swim and a great pic. I will also cover Norris Geyser Basin which is by far and away my least favorite stop in the park and I tell you why you shouldn't stop here unless you have a couple weeks to kill in the park.

The most photographed pool in the world and make one last stop on the way out at Park Mountain and hear the story of the 3 Brothers Peaks. A spot that was vitally important to Yellowstone being the designated as the first National Park in the world and we do it all in one huge day in Yellowstone Park.

We go over nice places to stay and where to find a cozy lakefront or riverside cabin to use as your home away from home as you visit Yellowstone Park. We cover some really great in town dining options including an award winning pizza and where you can take your picture in front of a huge Bison just before dinner as well as some really great places to eat a short drive away including the really fun Happy Hour Bar where you might get "honked", the beautiful Elk Lake Camp and a place where you can dine in one of the 1000 places to visit before you die.  And just in case you got shut out seeing a bear in the park and your daughter is distraught and inconsolable, I tell you where you can still be a hero and see Grizzly Bears, Wolves and even some Otters and even an IMAX for a little icing on the cake and then drop them off for a little zip lining while you go have a much deserved beer. All this and you are only a block away from the entrance to Yellowstone Park and I of course regale you with some more fun stories of my adventures in and around West Yellowstone including a great story about an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and old Snaggletooth, the most famous Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone and where you can still see him. I even include " tent clamping" at spots right outside the park and where you can park your RV or Motorhome and finish everything off with our new Winter Chapter for those of you that might want to visit Yellowstone in the winter.
This podcast covers how the Guidebook tells you everything you need to know about how to watch all the geysers go off in this one of a kind area which is home to more geysers than the rest of the world combined. We cover all the major geysers in this one of a kind area and how the guidebook easily gets you to them all by teaching  you to "work the geyser basin".  You will hear how the guidebook gets you to the best spot to watch Old Faithful from but far more importantly, it gets you to Riverside, Castle, Daisy and the largest predictable geyser on earth-Grand and gets you to these great geysers at the correct time. And I explain how Grand is not to be missed during any vacation to Yellowstone. We also stop by Morning Glory Pool and even make a stop at the seldom seen Artemesia Geyser as well as Great Fountain which graced the cover on the park map for decades. By the end of the day, you will have seen every geyser in the largest collection of geysers on the planet and also visited Lone Star and Great Fountain and spent one glorious day seeing the best geysers found anywhere on earth simply by following the Geyser Day Chapter in the Guidebook.
