In the Hope With Depression Podcast, we have tried to cover the subject from every conceivable angle (like the book does), and provide you with useful resources along the way.Has anyone asked though what's it's like for the close family members? And they don't come much closer than a twin.Today we talk to Charlotte Crilly, the twin sister of Samantha (who's mum Lynne wrote the "Hope With..." series of books in response to the situation with Samantha.Honest and true in equal measure.Have you ever had feelings that you are ashamed of because "Good people should not have these kind of feelings?"Turns out you're not alone (hardly!), and actually, it IS ok to be human. In this episode we talk to the inspired American author, Lynne Forrest. Most of us have heard the term Co-Dependency, here we explore it in much more detail, with Lynne- or as she calls it "Victim Consciousness".We delve into the nebulous world of Belief Systems, and how they operate and create our experience of the world, and introduce a simple innate skill we all have, to begin to break free from them.We introduce the concept of the "drama triangle", a pioneering step in psychological understanding, and how most of us innocently step on it in a misguided attempt to save ourselves!I love the way Lynne gently and compassionately encourages us to own our lives and our experience, but without feeling guilty or overburdened with it.You can learn more about Lynne's work here :https://www.lynneforrest.com/And buy her book on Amazon, here https://tinyurl.com/y9lrkdpdI know you are bombarded daily online with various good causes vying for your attention and support but PLEASE share this with anyone you think may benefit. It could potentially save a life. At the time of writing, the UK (and much of the world) is in lockdown because of Coronavirus. And it dawned on me that being holed up if you were in an abusive relationship, would be a living nightmare. So after a morning of research, I have created a two part "emergency"podcast.* You are allowed to leave the house and travel even in the Coronavirus Lockdown if you are fleeing a dangerous situation, I checked this with the police**** Contains content some listeners may find disturbing**Second installment tomorrow.**I heard earlier that if you dial 999, and do not talk but press 55, the police can geotrack (GPS locate you). I checked with the police 101, and it is semi true. When you dial 999, if you do not speak, a recorded message will come on, and say "If you require police, press 5 twice, if you require fire...etc".The relevant authority (in this case police) will be informed of a "55" and will then perform the requisite checks. There is geotracking to the nearest mast, sometimes pinpoint accurate ,sometimes not.I was also told that if you are in danger and you flee ANY building, residential or otherwise, that is considered essential, and completely legal.Thank you to the officer on 101 that provided me with this information, and indeed the whole police service.I also acknowledge that men are victims of this as well, albeit less.** May contain content some listeners may find disturbing**Today we talk to Denise, who has been there, done it, and is happily free now, and making a great contribution, and we enjoy a legal perspective from Richard Salvidge a solicitor, who has dealt with this for years.Tomorrow, we talk to Amy that runs programmes to help people out of this situation where there is addiction in the mix,and Fianna who runs a womens refuge.PLEASE SHARE LIBERALLY.RESOURCES FROM THESE EPISODES:In an emergency, 999Non Emergency 101NHS Page CLICK HERESurrey Domestic Abuse Helpline01483 776822www.yoursanctuary.org.ukLegal HelpSNS Law https://www.snslaw.co.uk/01622 238850 - Richard Salvidgeinfo@snslaw.co.ukRefuge- One Stop Shop -all you need to know.24 Hour Freefone 0808 2000 247https://www.refuge.org.uk/Domestic Abuse and Narcissist Support UK (Strictly Women Only)https://www.facebook.com/groups/114255949237434Addiction Revovery- Zoe Corcoranhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/2615904675137522/Clarity Focus and Growthhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/stepupstandtall21daychallenge/Free Anxiety Release Audio from Dionne Curtis www.whatiftherapy.co.ukCLICK HERE TO LISTENRespect-Domestic Abuse Charityhttp://respect.uk.net/

Yesterday, I recorded an interview with Alessandro Ferullo on energy healing, both for depression and how to boost the immune system. We also created a 10 minute meditation for you- personally I think the more of us that are individually as healthy as possible both mentally and physically, then it follows that collectively society will be more healthy - so stuff like this is good sense. Also, it is scientifically proven that if the mind is experiening fear, it lowers the immune system, which is the last thing we need right now, right?I'm not saying the current situation should be denied, far from it! BUT this is equally true too! We cannot seperate body and mind.We have most likely heard "It's All Energy", but how do we connect to and USE this energy for Self Care and Self Love and Healing? Here's one wayPlease shareBelow is our gift to you, a meditation, one with music, one without, 10 minutes long, with a 2 minute silence in the middle.Recommended use once or twice a day.CLICK HERE TO LISTEN (WITHOUT MUSIC)CLICK HERE TO LISTEN (WITH MUSIC)(To download audio, just click on the 3 vertical dots to the right of the player)More resources from Alessandro -Immune System SuperchargerCheap Monthly Coaching and MembershipI know you are bombarded daily online with various good causes vying for your attention and support but PLEASE share this with anyone you think may benefit. It could potentially save a life. In this episode we delve into the subject of Mindfulness.Lots of us have heard the word, but do we truly understand it?We talk about it today with Catherine Kell who not only used it to help her through one of the toughest times in her life, but isnow in a MUCH better place and is pioneering her own fantastic work in the field.https://www.catherinekell.com/https://www.selfcompassioncommunity.comReligious thing? Do we need to sit and chant? Wear robes? Go to a monastry in Tibet?Actually, none of those things. It is true to say that mindfulness has been practised by people who do these things as well, but you do not have to. And chances are you probably don't want to. Me neither!Phew!Mindfulness has been adapted from Buddhism to serve our Western Scientific Mindset. It is simple. Requires no belief system. And it works.Se, we are in exciting leading edge times, with huge understandings and advances in Neuroscience, where we can measure the effects of this and other practises.Oxford Uni studied it. Hope. We've all heard the word. But does the word give us hope? The biggest challenge I have faced making this podcast is acknowledging the reality of depression, yet believing in other compelling possibilities at the same time. Depression is a temporary condition, and IT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU,OR PREDICT THE FUTURE.We are not trying to deny the feelings,we want you to feel good again. In Episode 3 we bust the damaging myths of depression, and with Lynn and Sam Crilly (author of the book), and we bust them hard.Check out Lynns library of work on http:www.lynncrilly.comBut for balance, now we go"off piste"a little. You Matter. Oh and according to our guest today, You Energy!Meet the extraordinary spiritual teacher, healer and Access Consciousness Practitioner Anita Wisdom.  http://www.anitawisdom.comIs there Hope with Depression? They kind of live side by side. You listen. Welcome to Hope With Depression, the Podcast. Lynn Crilly’s most detailed and powerful book of the same title, was released on the 20th January 2020.I (Neil Long) thought it was so good, it needed a supporting podcast. Why? Because depression is a big deal. From the World Health Organisation Website…. “Depression is a common mental disorder. Globally, more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression.” So, to say this information is timely is an understatement.I think it’s fair to say almost everyone has been affected by this illness at some point in their lives; either being a sufferer yourself or knowing a loved one or friend who has been affected. And if you haven’t been please contact me, as I’d love to pick your healthy brain- seriously!neil@knightfantastic.comIn Episode 1, we set the scene, what you can expect; we introduce you to Lynn Crilly, the author, and her daughter Samantha,  who are both a long way along their respective healing journeys, and tell you what we have in store for you in future episodes, like… ·       Types of Depression·       How to recognise the sometimes not so obvious symptoms·       Seeking the right treatment for you, including contributions from therapists, healers and more.·       Stories from those who have recovered, or are in the process of.·       Depression in the home·       …. and in the classroom·       …..and in the workplace.·       Depression and social media ·       Depression and suicide risk and prevention ·       Guide to the different therapies and treatments. I know you are bombarded daily online with various good causes vying for your attention and support but PLEASE share this with anyone you think may benefit. It could potentially save a life.
