Episode 16 – A Conversation with Margo Ashmore When it comes to NE Minneapolis, perhaps no one has played a role in so many varying aspects in making this fine neighborhood what it is, than today's guest. Margo Ashmore is many things and has, like I said, played many roles, from being the coordinator of the nations largest open air studio tour, Art A Whirl, back in its early days, to being the coordinator of the Minneapolis/St Paul Home tour since 2005, sitting on the boards of the NE Minneapolis Arts District, the NE Community Development Corporation and Art To Change the World. Somewhere she also finds time for her own art, wether it be photography, writing, story telling and even taking the stage for stand up comedy. Most notably, Margo has been the owner and publisher of the Northeaster Newspaper since 1981. While the paper covers all things news related in NE and immediate vicinity, more importantly, it keeps a spotlight on all things arts related being generated in our fair neighborhood. And theres a lot of arts going on here. I hope you enjoy and Cheers! Be sure to check us out online at www.roguebuddha.com

Episode 14 – Home Is Where The Art Is In this weeks episode I chat a bit more about just how essential art is in our every day life. Consider a world without the arts and creative fields. I think you would have to agree that it's pretty bleak. As art sales online soar, I chat about why I think that is and how it relates to this notion that home is where the art is. I hope you enjoy and Cheers! Be sure to check us out online at www.roguebuddha.com
Episode 13 – Leggo my Ego Have you ever had just one of those weeks where the universe seems to be saying, “Yeah, sorry, it's not gonna be your week.” Two weeks ago happened to be one of those weeks for me as I experienced a number of minor arts related setbacks. I was all set to chat about those setbacks in episode 13 when lo and behold, a forth setback decided to put the icing on that cake of disappointments. I flat out lost my voice and was unable to talk, let alone record the episode, until just the other day. Chalk it up to the #13 or the art gods saying, time for a break. Whatever the case, I'm back this week with that infamous 13th episode. In it I talk about those minor setbacks and my perspective on disappointments and how I handle them when it comes to my art business. I hope you enjoy and Cheers! Episode 12 – Ruminations In episode 12 I give a bit of a more in depth update as to what's been going on with me and the gallery this week. Then I delve a bit deeper into a few things that Merry Beck, owner of Gallery 360, had to say in last weeks episode. I hope you enjoy and Cheers! Be sure to check us out online at www.roguebuddha.com
One of the very first galleries to open it's doors to me as an artist was Gallery 360 and gallery owner Merry Beck. Over the past 20 years Gallery 360 has become like a second artistic home for me as I've exhibited with them regularly over the years. During that time I've watched as Merry meticulously curates and produces one amazing exhibit after another. I've been in constant admiration in watching how she fosters strong relationships with artists and collectors alike. As one of her artists, I've experienced first hand her involvement in crafting an exhibit and how that process starts with studio visits and discussions about the direction of the show and each piece to be displayed. I've also been witness to her concern for and attention to the needs of clients, patrons and collectors. In many ways, Merry is the consummate gallerist and someone that I knew I had to have on this podcast as soon as possible. It's an honor and a pleasure to introduce you to my colleague in the gallery business and a terrific friend, Merry Beck of Gallery 360. I hope you enjoy and Cheers! In this episode I discuss 10 tips for artists where weathering the storm is concerned. These tips not only apply to artists, but to pretty much anyone, as these ideas are fairly universal no matter who we are or what we do. I hope you enjoy and Cheers!
Episode 9 – A Lesson from Vincent. In this weeks episode, we see what one Vincent Van Gogh might have to teach us about turning lemons into lemonade and finding beauty in the darkness. Be sure to visit us at roguebuddha.com I hope you enjoy and Cheers!
