Fact Finding: After Dark

In this episode we talk about staying motivated with my first LPO, and he has a Youtube channel dedicated to the topic. Don't let that make you think that he's completely straight laced, because he specifically asked us to record drunk. Being dedicated to our craft, of course we obliged him.Social  Media is quickly becoming a way for Sailors and DoD personnel to express themselves in a way that may or may not be ok with big Navy. Protect yourselves and enjoy that first amendment right nukes. You can find him on youtube here:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVxLQ1Ymi0tXkPvlWIV-NUQ

No, we weren't shut down again. We're still here, and we will be posting 2 episodes a week for the foreseeable future to play catchup. We have about 8 episodes recorded that need editing and uploading, so content is coming back in a big , tremendous way. Some say the most tremendous. With the recent fall of Afghanistan, I thought it was important to talk about how it could've gotten to this point. This isn't like a normal episode. It's not as funny, and it's a bit more raw, but I felt like it  was important to talk about how we've  gotten to this point and what it means for us as both Nukes and Americans. You can reach out to us anytime at factfindingpodcast@gmail.com.

Needs of the Navy

When it comes time to rotate, there are few words more dreaded than "Needs of the Navy"For some, it may have meant a tour at prototype or at a place far away from home. For me personally, it worked out pretty well. Today, we'll discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of these type of orders. As usual, we also get really sidetracked. When you listen, you may hear some breathing going on. Unfortunately with the way we record, the video file gets exported into one audio file, so there isn't much I can do about it unfortunately, but it is something I will try to remedy moving forward by recording separate audio files. Please bear with me as I learn how to do this whole podcasting thing.I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it.~Shine
It's just the 3 of us today as we re-center and talk about some feel good stories. This was suggested by Chief Scuttlebutt, and he really knocked it out of the park with his story. Normally we're shitting on some aspect of Nuke life, but we gave it a rest for this week only. We're also really excited to announce that we are partnering with The Reactor is Critical (TRIC) for the foreseeable future. We are now the official podcast of TRIC, and you'll be able to find us on https://www.thereactoriscritical.com/ in the near future. We hope you enjoy as much as we enjoyed making it.~Shine, Shimmer, and Scuttlebutt.
In today's episode, Scuttlebutt, Shimmer, and Shine are join by Chief Zeta to discuss the greatest gift you can give to yourself underway; a good ol' practical joke on someone else.I apologize for the volume on last week's episode. This one is much better, and it won't blow your ears out. Unless, you know, you're into that sort of thing. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

A lot of our time in the program was spent at prototype. For better or for worse, we've had a lot of influence on future generations or nukes while we were there. This topic was requested by our guest today, Petty Officer HBK. he has an unrivaled passion for student quality of life, and I know that the three of us were inspired by his care for students while we were in the same section. We hope you enjoy. Don't forget to reach o[ut to us if you'd like to join us on the show.FactFindingPodcast@gmail.com
You wanted it. We wanted  to talk about it.Today we're back for more poop stories we've dealt with in (and out of) the Navy. For such an auspicious occasion, we've brought on our first guest ever. Ex-Chief El Guapo joins us today as we ponder the question "how can one thing both raise and lower morale so easily?"Our guest had a unique and cool sponsorship today, the link for "Crunch" is below.I hope you have a quarter of the fun listening to this as we had recording it. Enjoy.~Shinehttps://www.hikerbeta.com/support-me/crunch-pre-order-and-blog-access?fbclid=IwAR0xjLcdRHjaS2Bj2LVHMeMDdfIiRYX39u6-NK5ddRuiHxEWTgEclOIaSS8
In what may be my favorite episode we've ever done, we talk about Fact Finding and Critiques. We get into a ton of things from how terrible surface electricians are, to how sad submarine electricians are. We get into less serious topics like how to lead sailors.Remember to send your stories to FactFindingPodcast@gmail.comWe're really proud of this one, and we hope you enjoy.~Shine, Shimmer, and Scuttlebutt
Today we talk about funny deployment stories. Somehow we also end up talking about Scotland and Mississippi.Thank you so much for listening. If you enjoy our content, please share with your fellow nukes. If you want to come on the show (not recommended for active duty), or if you'd like to send us a funny story to read, you can reach us at FactFindingPodcast@gmail.com.Remember, ships do actually go to Australia.
In this episode, Chief Shimmer, Shine, and Scuttlebutt explore the shipyard environment with rose colored glasses. We also ramble about a bunch of other things.Thank you so much for listening. In our Relaunch, we explore why mess deck food is so bad before we get sidetracked.Thank you for coming back. We're excited to be back.As a reminder, all opinions are our own, and we do not represent the opinions of the DoD, DoN, or anyone else except for ourselves. Believe it or not, this has to be said. All stories should be interpreted as satire, and anyone that believes a sea story is a gullible polywag. Polywags also try to remove the podcast because they use their position to exert undue pressure to remove it.Be a Trusty Shellback, don't be a slimy polywag.
In this episode, we loosely explore our time in critiques. It's mostly a healthy experience, but we tried to share our more humorous stories. We also read our first batch of fanmail. As an audience, you're killing it. Write the show at FactFindingPodcast@gmail.com with a topic you'd like to hear about.
In this episode, we they to discuss the origins of, and resulting critiques of, dinosaur eggs and another poop story. We're sorry, but we also think you'll enjoy it.Don't forget to subscribe and submit your stories to FactFindingPodcast@gmail.com
