In this latest episode of Angles, we hear from  Dr Vicki Lorrimar, lecturer in systematic theology at Trinity College in Queensland, who spoke about human enhancement technology and the Christian response in the recent ISCAST's online conference in July this year.
Host the Revd Dr Chris Mulherin is joined by pulmonologist and immunologist Dr Bruce Robinson to talk COVID-19 in Australia, in a conversation that was originally broadcast during the 12th Conference on Science and Christianity (COSAC) in July. Chris and Bruce talk through the issues around creating a vaccine for the coronavirus, the broader impacts the pandemic is having on Australian society, how we might face the suffering that comes from traumatic events personal and planet-wide, and whether there is hope in what appears to be an increasingly difficult future.
Virtual reality, digital social relationships and how young people can navigate the opportunities and pitfalls of the online world are all up for discussion on this month's episode of Angles on Science, Faith and Culture. Host the Revd Dr Chris Mulherin is joined by Dr Katherine Canobi, a cognitive development scientist and author of the young adult science fiction novel Mindcull, and Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne Dr Philip Freier.
This month we're talking about what Christians might broadly describe as “creation care”, and the concept of responsible dominion. Chris is joined by zoologist and ecologist at La Trobe University Professor Michael Clarke, creation care advocate at Interserve Australia Katherine Shields, environmental scientist and senior advisor at the World Nuclear Association Ian Hore-Lacy, and Archbishop of Melbourne Dr Philip Freier.
In this first episode of Angles on Science, Faith and Culture, the Revd Dr Chris Mulherin sits down with Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne and Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia Dr Philip Freier and students Amy Bulman and Jacob Cumming to talk about the moon landing. Stay in touch with Angles on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/melbourneangles
