Happy New Year Young World! It has been a hot minute since I've posted a new podcast right?  Well, a lot has been going on in the world and in my life since we were together last.  I have opened my podcasting up a bit to a broader audience by linking it with my Youth Ministry Drop-In N' Chill. So I will be posting my podcasts on my DINC pages and accounts as well as promoting things that are happening through my podcast. Don't worry though, I will still be broadcasting awesome interviews and sharing some encouraging words and passages that I pray will continue to bring comfort to all of you listening. This episode is my first interview in Drop-In N' Chill's new feature called Youth Spotlight. I will be interviewing youth and young adults who are doing amazing things in and for their community. This interview features a young woman named Rebekah who has started a purse drive in her local town for homeless women. Tune in and take a listen and be inspired!

Have you been given a HARD NO! from God? I have and it broke me. I know it's been a while but I'm so glad you have stuck with me and are here!Take a listen to hear what's been up in my household and about how God's hard no became a true blessing to me.Again, I'm so happy we are together again Young World!
I've been dealing with a lot of hurt and pain lately along with a lot of changes for my family and I and it's just been a crazy couple of weeks! God has been with me through it all and I wanted to share some tips on forgiveness as I've been on this journey lately. My husband and I left our church and with that will come probably some more pain as I share things publicly but I am using my pain to help grow others. Take a listen and I pray that the verses I share will help you on your forgiveness journey.
Growing in New York left him vulnerable to joining a gang, turning to using or selling drugs or even being killed at a young age. My husband Jesus (a.k.a "G") lived in a place where almost everyone felt there was no way out. Why did he not have this mentality? Listen to hear his view of growing up in the Ghetto and what that REALLY means. I see and hear a lot of youth in my city talking about that Ghetto life but they really have no idea what that is and how fortunate they are to NOT live in the Ghetto. God played a major role in my husband's life and I'm excited for all of you to hear his story and to be inspired to strive for a good life no matter where you are now.
Ep. 12 Have 'The Talk'

Ep. 12 Have 'The Talk'

2020-06-1531:00

It's not THE TALK you think! What this episode is about is the tough conversations people are afraid to have right now about race. We are all being hurt right now. Whether it's by the silence of our non black friends or we are doing the hurting by not communicating with our friends about our pain. It's time to sit down and have a talk. I've got some strategies to help get the conversations going with your parents about their views on racism and on how to forgive if you are hurt by your friends.
There is something amazing happening in our world right now. Us black people we have the worlds attention! I live in Cambridge, Ontario Canada and I am using this time while the world is listening to speak loud for my people. I got called on by God to do something completely out of my comfort zone to help the black people in my city. It was scary and something that I had all the feels about, but I trusted God to equip me and He did! Take a listen to what has been going on in my city and what I am doing to change things.
This is a different kind of podcast stemmed from my pain due to the murder of George Floyd. This is a very raw podcast that I recorded in my bed in the early morning because I could not sleep. My head was too full and my heart was too heavy for sleep. So I jumped on my phone and began recording a voice note. I hope Young World you will not listen to this alone, but with your parents, with your friends and their parents. I hope you parent listeners will listen to this with your spouse or co workers. I hope this podcast reaches all those who need to know they are not suffering alone. Even myself as a woman who is strong in her faith is hurting as a black woman who has 2 sons. I am sharing my pain in this podcast like I've never done before. I am sharing my experience of racism in a small down now, today in 2020. My childhood racism is there and is important but I feel it's more important to share what I am going through now and what my children have gone through. A lot of people believe racism is an American thing and just doesn't happen in Canada, but yes it does! it is rampant and is hidden very well. In option that is much worse than someone calling you the 'N' word to your face because when it's done subliminally it's very calculated. I want this to open up discussions as we all heal. I want this to be a podcast that shows my pain and my vulnerability. Take a good listen and get a discussion going. The murder of black people by white people needs to stop...everywhere!
If you are feeling anxious right now there is hope! You can have peace in your mind, body and soul through Jesus Christ. Welcome to the second episode of my Mental Health Series.  You will hear some strategies that will help you navigate through your anxious moments. Some tips on how to take inventory on your thought life and read through some helpful scriptures that can take you through your anxiety--->peace journey. Grab your bibles and get comfy as we take your next step in finding peace together.
I know your are saying 'I have no more fight in me!' But what if this one last attempt was THE ONE? What if you actually put your all into believing the Word of God and His love for you? What if THAT could save you? It's still a tough time out there. The Covid 19 isolation is still a thing even though things are beginning to reopen. As Mental Health Week closes I wanted to start a series on this important subject. I know a lot of you right now are hurting and confused and just emotionally drained. So this message is one that I pray will bring you hope and point in back in the direction of where you faith lies; in Jesus Christ our saviour. Take a moment or two to be uplifted and hopefully given that last push to get back up and fight another day!
Take a listen to an amazing man sharing his walk with Jesus and his love for youth. Josiah works for an amazing organization called Youth For Christ. Heard of them before? Find out what my local YFC is doing to help the youth and how you can get in touch with the Youth For Christ in your city/town. Helping build God's kingdom should be a goal that all of us christians try to achieve. You may find out a way to be a kingdom builder in your own community.
Are you feeling left out during this Covid 19 Pandemic? I have noticed that the age group of 12-20 is not being mentioned much in the government updates nor the media. I want you all to know that I noticed this and I'm doing something about it. I had a great conversation with some amazing women. Take a listen and get your notebook because you will want to write down the smart and practical advice each woman shares on how to get through this pandemic as a youth.
Episode 5 The Check In

Episode 5 The Check In

2020-04-2154:44

This episode was an exciting one for me. I checked in with my former youth group kiddos who are no long my kiddos but young adults! These 3 young women have a lot to share about their journey with Jesus and the effects Covid 19 has had. Come take a listen to hear how these young women are handling this pandemic and how they are trying their best to continue to be a reflection of Jesus in a world that looks nothing like they ever imagined.
Have you been feeling like this Covid 19 pandemic is never going to end? Are you feeling guilty for giving into temptations you were doing so great with avoiding? Do you feel like you really messed up and wondering if God really forgives you? I don't have all the answers but I do have advice that I hope will help you navigate through them. So grab a snack and take a listen! Tell a friend to listen too, might end up being just what you both needed.
I have my first interview with my daughter Lidija. Checking in with her on how she's feeling during this Corona Virus and Pandemic. She shares how she feels about being out of school and not being able to go to her church youth group to be with her friends. Lidija also offers some advice to those who are anxious during this time. Take a listen to what this wise young lady has to say!
