Guess what? I'm frigging back! I took a hiatus because my body needed a little bit of a rest. And so did my brain and literally so many other things, and I've got really exciting news, I'm engaged! That is a very exciting thing for me to share with everybody. I'm so excited. If you want to see how the proposal went down, you can find that literally everywhere. I post things because I'm so freaking excited to be engaged to Justin Decloux! You can also listen to him on past episodes, or you could find us on our Pineapple Skeleton YouTube page.Let me tell you why I'm back. I decided first of all, that I still really enjoy doing podcasts for my clients. But the other thing that I really enjoy is helping people find a way to make money with their creative pursuits. So I thought, why not share with you what I know about how to start a creative business? And today I'm going to start things off with an episode about choosing a creative business. And I’ll be asking these questions to help you choose your creative business! Can you picture yourself doing this creative thing for more than a few weeks, with sustained interest?Do you have a background in this creative thing, or do you need to take a course to become proficient in it?Is someone else already doing this? If so, how can you differentiate? (Bonus - the fact that someone else is already doing it means there’s a market for your product or service! This is a good thing!)Does the amount of time it takes to do your creative thing equal out how much you want to get paid? Look at the current market and see how much people are paying for your product or service to get an idea of this. That’s all for now! If you liked this episode and want to hear more, make sure you follow me on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to your podcasts! You can also find me on TikTok and YouTube. If you’re interested in starting your own creative business, in the new year I’m launching an exclusive program to help you get started! This is a very special episode of The Ultimate Creative Podcast. Why? Because one of my amazing business coaches, Shelagh Cummins, is coming in to drop some SERIOUS MAGIC into your ears! Here, I’ll prove it with this quote:“It's not going to be possible if you just will it to happen, you actually have to take actions in order to get those results.” - Shelagh CumminsBOOM.Oh wait that wasn’t mind blowing enough? Hang on I’ve got another one:“I think we just need to stop accepting mediocrity. We are better than mediocrity.” - Shelagh CumminsOHHHHHHH BABY! We are better than mediocrity! Heck yes we are!Aside from Shelagh’s many amazing quotes in this episode, the reason I wanted to bring her on the show was really to help all my creator listeners understand that there is an essential business element that needs to be addressed, that I really don’t think content creators believe they need. Why? Because I see it all the time - creators want to earn money from their content, but aren’t putting in the work on the business side to truly understand how to communicate their value (and frankly, believe that what they have to offer is of value) to the world. So if you’re one of those content creators that’s thinking “dang, I do really want to earn money from my content, I know that my stuff is great, and I want to take it to the next level” you should absolutely tune in to hear:Why it’s important that content creators view themselves as business ownersThe most important thing content creators can do to make the shift and begin treating their content as a business or revenue streamHow to turn dreams into action, and action into profit! And I highly encourage you to check out Shelagh’s offerings if you want to take the next step towards becoming a business owner:The Road To Seven: https://www.theroadtoseven.com/The Business Accelerator: https://www.theroadtoseven.com/the-business-accelerator-liveThe Capital Access Program (seriously cool): https://www.theroadtoseven.com/capital-access-programThe Road To Seven Podcast: https://www.theroadtoseven.com/theroadtosevenpodcastEpisode 58 - The Hidden Microcosm of Entrepreneurs: https://www.theroadtoseven.com/theroadtosevenpodcast/the-hidden-microcosm-of-women-entrepreneursFree Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/867037907397297If you’re in need of help to launch your podcast, or possibly to revive it, my team can help you out!Check out my new FREE masterclass, 5 simple steps to launch a podcast at https://theultimatecreative.com/simple-steps-to-start-a-podcast/Podcast Production Production - Let us take all the extra stuff off your plate! What’s your creative process?Today on The Ultimate Creative Podcast we’re talking about how to develop your own creative process! What works for everyone will not work for you. And what works for you now will not work for you this time next year - or maybe even this time next month! I'll share a few different ideas that you can try to squeeze more creative juice out of your brains as we melt into this lovely pre-July heat! It's going to be HUUUUMMIIIIID! WOOT!We'll be covering:🤔 Why is creative process important?😵‍💫 How do you set yourself up for creative success?🤨 What will your creative process look like? Why do we want to have a process anyway?👉 It’s easier to set expectations for clients and for yourself👉 You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every single time👉 It can be easier to release self-limiting behaviours and thoughts because we are naturally in the creative flowGetting into that creative flow state is really what this is all about, and paying attention to how you arrive to this creative flow state is equally important, so that you can remove the barriers to getting there. If you’re in need of help to launch your podcast, or possibly to revive it, my team can help you out!Check out my new FREE masterclass, 5 simple steps to launch a podcast at https://theultimatecreative.com/simple-steps-to-start-a-podcast/Podcast Production Production - Let us take all the extra stuff off your plate! Are you trying to get more visibility but have no idea how to pitch yourself to podcasts? Are your cold pitch templated emails just making podcasters mad? Then you need to listen to this episode of The Ultimate Creative to hear how Podcast Visibility Strategist, Elizabeth Krajewski can help you ditch the cold pitch and build intentional relationships so that you can grow your audience by being on other podcasts!Elizabeth shares her creative journey, and how working in podcast management eventually led her to podcast visibility strategy, which allows her to feel truly fulfilled and creative. How? It’s in the details.Elizabeth doesn’t just write a cold pitch and send it to hundreds and hundreds of podcasts that have nothing to do with her clients. Heck no! Because that’s annoying and podcasters hate it! Instead, she does the research. She dives deep into her client’s mission and purpose, and aligns them with podcasts that have audiences who will get a lot of value out of hearing from them. The best advice when pitching yourself to podcasts:Elizabeth says to “come up with one topic for your pitch, and format it the way the podcaster normally formats their episode titles. Because that way, they're going to envision you on the podcast already.”And of course Elizabeth also shares what you should include in a package when you pitch yourself to podcasts, as well as a very awesome FREE podcast guesting strategy guide which you can grab from the links below!About Elizabeth:As a podcast visibility strategist Elizabeth Krajewski is on a mission to elevate female entrepreneurs’ voices so they can inspire and engage with more clients through their podcast interviews. Whether she’s researching relevant podcasts to pitch her clients to or working on topics that amplify her client’s voices, she uses her experience and network to provide her clients an unforgettable experience. Elizabeth knows that in order to land podcast interviews that convert for her clients she needs to lead with value and build genuine connections. When she's not working with her clients or being active in her local community, she loves to explore new travel destinations, check out local restaurants with her partner, or curl up with a good book that usually includes a cat snuggled next to her.Elizabeth’s Links:> bit.ly/podcastvisibility> https://virtuwellsolutions.com/ultimatecreative> https://instagram.com/virtuwellsolutionsMore Links:> Join me every Thursday at 11am EST for TUC Thursdays Live on Instagram! https://instagram.com/the_ultimatecreative> The Ultimate Creative Podcast Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucpodcommunity/Learn how my team can help you launch and grow a podcast:> Free Masterclass: 5 Simple Steps to Start a Podcast: https://theultimatecreative.com/simple-steps-to-start-a-podcast/>Learn at your own pace with Podcast Rocket: https://theultimatecreative.com/podcast-rocket> Already have a podcast? Do you suffer from procrastination? This episode is for you. I covered this in part on an IG live last week which you can join every Thursday at 11am EST. But today I want to go a little deeper into the big goals side of things. On the live we talked about, Why do you procrastinate? How do you stop yourself from procrastinating? What are the benefits of procrastinating and how can you make it work for you?So today I thought we’d talk more about what happens when you set ginormous goals for yourself and then totally bail on them, whether you want to or not. What happens when you set big goals?Sometimes when we set very big goals for ourselves it can conjure up feelings of fear - what if I fail? What will people think if I don’t do what I say I’m going to do? And then there’s feelings of overwhelm - How will I get from where I am now, to this massive huge goal, I don’t even know the first step? And finally, it can feel like you’re trapped. You’ve committed to this goal, you’ve told everyone you know what you’re doing - and now you have a sense of responsibility to deliver on something that is causing way more panic than joy in your life.Like launching a podcast. That’s a big dream! And if you’ve never done it before, it’s overwhelming! At least that’s what my clients and students say when we start talking about why they haven’t done it yet. So what I do as always is break everything down into tiny little steps. Obnoxiously tiny. No matter what your goals are, or your reason for procrastinating on your big dreams, this process can help you. Give it a try and write down a bunch of little steps that you need to take so that you can accomplish your dreams! And if your dreams happen to be to start your own podcast, you can just enrol in Podcast Rocket which is now available on-demand at https://theultimatecreative.com/podcast-rocket Head on over there now to take action on your BIG GOALS to start a podcast and grab your spot in Podcast Rocket!Links:Join me every Thursday at 11am EST for TUC Thursdays Live on Instagram! https://instagram.com/the_ultimatecreativeThe Ultimate Creative Podcast Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucpodcommunity/Learn how my team can help you launch and grow a podcast:Learn at your own pace with Podcast Rocket: https://theultimatecreative.com/podcast-rocketAlready have a podcast? Pro podcaster and filmmaker (and the love of my life) Justin Decloux is back for an episode all about creativity! And we're getting real to answer the question, why is creativity so hard?Today we’re talking about why it’s so hard to be creative, because we both struggle with this from time to time. And then there are times when we’re super prolific. When Justin realizes that creativity is not coming to you as easily as he'd like it to, often times it's just about taking a nap and getting some space, and then moving on.For me, I just get super frustrated and angry with myself and one of my big tipoffs that I'm not in particularly creative mood is that I'm focusing on very mundane tasks that really could be done at ANY other time!We also talk about the value of being creative with a collaborator.
