I grew up as a painfully shy child. My mother had to make friends for me in grade school, and she even got me my prom date, no joke. Throughout my 20s and 30s, I climbed the corporate ladder, chasing status, more zeros and trying to make my parents proud. Fast forward to my early forties, I have never been more at peace and fulfilled in my life.
