We are baaaaack with a recap of Netflix's "The Adam Project". This movie just dropped a few weeks ago and is incredible. Walker Scobell is a standout in his first feature film alongside his hero, Ryan Reynolds. Fans of psychological thrillers, time travel, and the butterfly effect will adore this movie. Lots of laughs and even a few tears are unavoidable.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
We've done it! We finally managed to blindly pick a film that beat Zola's 89% score! And what a great cozy mystery to do it, too. AngieChu watches the film for the first time and falls in love, while Papa D reflects on his third viewing. They also discuss what they'd like to see in the upcoming Knives Out 2.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
**Apologies for the audio issues in this episode** AngieChu discusses why she likes this nearly 3-hour-long movie, while Papa D laments his distaste of it. Angie speculates on how Brad Pitt's apology tour helped the film win its Academy Awards and the best ways to rewatch this movie.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
Papa D geeks out as he introduces Angie to B-level Jason Statham movie, "The Meg". Angie agrees that this was a fun, complete movie, and Papa D (shark fanatic) details some of the specifics you might miss on the first pass-through. Both hosts strongly disagree with the low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, and they discuss what The Meg 2 could be about!Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
Angie, resident Five Night's At Freddy's fanatic, finally watches "Willy's Wonderland" and convinces horror-hating Papa D to watch it, too. Luckily, this horror-comedy is 95% comedy and 5% horror, so it does not scare Papa D. We discuss the silent protagonist that is just Nic Cage as a janitor and how this movie only works because it's Nic Cage. Angie discusses what she'd like to see in a prequel and in a sequel, as well as the similarities to the beloved FNAF series.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
Papa D introduces AngieChu (and her toddler, Xandir) to the 2008 live-action Speed Racer movie. They all agree that this is a widely underrated, feel-good movie. It's fun with a light plot, and its lengthy running time goes quickly.  For once, they have nothing negative or ranty to say!Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
AngieChu and Papa D review the New Zealand comedy horror film "Killer Sofa" and are left decidedly underwhelmed. Angie attacks the movie from a writing and filmmaking perspective, rating it as a rushed school assignment that she'd want to see expanded and fleshed out more, and Papa D just wants to forget this movie exists. They segue into tangents about Five Nights At Freddy's similarities, Zak Bagans's experiences with dybbuk boxes, and whether or not rewatching "Killer Sofa" as a comedy instead of a horror would make it better.  Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
During the off-season of The Challenge, AngieChu and Papa D recap the blockbuster movie Sonic The Hedgehog. We discuss how we bullied the studio from turning a creepy-looking Sanic into this wonderful film, recap how Sonic is like totally a 7-year-old child with ADHD, and squeal over Jim Carrey's masterful performance as Dr. Ivo Robotnik.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
During the off-season of The Challenge, AngieChu and Papa D recap the indie blockbuster movie Zola. Based on the viral Twitter thread from Zola K (a.k.a. @zolarmoon_), we explore the consequences of agreeing to go on a "ho trip" with a chick you just met less than 24 hours before. Pimps, bad sex, fragile egos, a shooting, and a near-suicide ensue.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5cpN7te6IumEd78olqcuVkApple Pods - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bananas-toast/id1507615062Google Pods - https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMDA0ODk2LnJzcw==Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!:@TheAngieChu@PapaD618
AngieChu and Papa D discuss the surprisingly well-off mentally CT and lament how...nice he was to the contestants. We also discuss Ed's power move and how our boy Jay has continued to devolve into madness while power consumes him.
In this episode, AngieChu and Papa D discuss the delightful birth of a counteralliance (though Colleen sabotages her own initiative), and how Jay is trippin' on his newfound power.
In this episode, AngieChu and Papa D discuss why it is important to have hard conversations with friends, what is true about the friendship if you are unwilling to do this, and also how the return of a LEGEND shakes up the house!
AngieChu & Papa D discuss the odd playing styles of several cast members who are happy to hemorrhage money, as well as social media tea from this week that clear up the million-dollar question: Who told Johnny??
We're back to discuss the orgy that this season has turned into. Everyone wants a piece of Emanuel the Vampire, and Moriah doesn't understand how reality tv works in the Internet age of the 21st century.
AngieChu and Papa D are back to congratulate Prime Video on uploading the episode on time this week :) They discuss the oddities of Big T and Melissa being the prime targets of the house, Kaz's weak reception into the house, and how the cast should strategize going forward.
The newbies continue to bungle their deliberations, as Chauncey took a look at Jessica's performance last week and said, "Hold My Beer". We also discuss the importance of Kyland and Melissa's scene together as they discuss Kyland's autism, as well as the team morale as they continue to have too many cooks in the kitchen.
AngieChu and Papa D are BACK AT LAST with a whole new recap for episode 1 of Season 39. We discuss how much this feels like an old-school cast (for better and for worse), Big T's glowup to main character status, Hughie's bum implants, and how production dropped the ball on making this another 1-winner season. We also detail Jessica's biggest blunder ever.
We have our winners, and we are ecstatic! The best team won, but all 4 teams did SUCH a great job. We give them their props, AngieChu reveals Finals Tea spilled by the cast post-episode, and Papa D gives what might be his last Fessy rant of Season 38!
Part 2 of the Final is underway, and all of the teams are beginning to implode under the pressure. They enjoy some pea soup, followed by some noodles! Ever seen a Banana covered in someone else's Noodles? No? That's why we love this show!
AngieChu and Papa D are back from holiday hiatus to recap part one of the Ride Or Dies final!
