Suffering as a believer means that we will go through, we will have trials, we will have tribulations, we will have moments of weakness, but we will never be alone during the process. It means that we can always depend on the strength of the Father, the hope of Jesus and the intercession of His precious Holy Spirit to help us and journey with us through every situation. In this episode, we talk about VISION - and the difficulties that often surround seeing a particular vision through from beginning to end. Remember, your vision has PURPOSE... don't give up on it! Be reminded of James 1:12 (AMPC): "Blessed (happy, [c]to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him." In this week's episode, we deal with the challenging topic of blessing those that are difficult to bless! Doing good to our enemies... stretching ourselves to pray for those that are not easy to love... Whew! It's a tough lesson, but one that's worthwhile! Know that as you do this, God will bring harvest into your life, and you will be able to walk in His grace even more! Now, hear me... this is HARD, but with the empowerment of the Holy Ghost, you can do this!!! There is this theory that you should only love and bless and do good to those who love and bless and do good to you. This theory couldn't be further from the truth!! The song at the beginning of the podcast says "show me God's perspective in me..." this episode is one that really challenges us to welcome God's perspective, as it relates to how we treat those who mistreat us. It's hard taking the high road and showing love, even when are you want to do is get right down on their level. But, do it... take the high road. In this week's episode, we're talking about procrastination, procrastination, procrastination!!!! Have you ever fallen into the trap of not getting things done, for one reason or another? It is easy to put things off for a later time, or just to let them fall by the wayside altogether - to be tossed into the abyss of all the great ideas that never get accomplished. Procrastination is a scheme of the enemy. But, you CAN overcome! This week's "lesson" comes from the ant. The Proverbs help us so much to put life into perspective. So, learn from the ant... do your work while you can and store up for the days you do not know are coming. So wake up, sleepyhead. How long will you lie there? When will you wake up and get out of bed? If you keep nodding off and thinking, “I’ll do it later,” or say to yourself, “I’ll just sit back awhile and take it easy,” just watch how the future unfolds! In this episode we learn that we should not fear the "what ifs" of the enemy, but that we should "clap back" and take our stance of VICTORY in Jesus Christ! How many good ideas have you neglected because you were afraid to step out, and you heard that nagging voice of satan telling you you were not worthy or capable of such a goal. How many projects have you shut down before they really had a chance to take off because you feared a lack of support? How many relationships have you ended prematurely because things were just too good to be true, so you ended it and left all the potential on the table? How many times have you said "NO" to God, whether verbally or with your actions because you just couldn't stretch your limits or overcome the negative thoughts in your head to do whatever He was asking you to do? How many people could God touch if you really gave Him the "yes" He's been probing your heart for? How much change could come to your family and friends and sphere of influence (whether this is a current or future sphere) if you just decided - for once - to ignore satan's lies and throw your whole self into PURPOSE? So, the next time the devil hits you with his endless list of "what ifs" to stop you from doing something... use your God-given authority and CLAP BACK!!!! What if you win?! What if it's the best thing you've ever done?! What if you get the opportunity to change lives?! What if God's Kingdom grows because of what you're working on?! What if you become an expert in your field and others grow as a result? What if satan gets defeated and can no longer claim victory in any area of your life?! Our "what ifs" are changing, and we are no longer being paralyzed by the lies of the enemy. WE. WILL. WIN!!!! In this episode, I am joined again by my husband, Maurice Mathis, in the final episode of a 3-part series focused on our NICU experience with our Miracle Twins in 2017. This week's episode brings our journey full-circle, as we discuss our emotions as we brought both twins home, the beauty of hope "on the other side" of a trial, and the joy that is available as you overcome. As you listen, and as you face your own challenges (whether in the NICU or otherwise), cling to the words of Jeremiah in Lamentations 3:19-27 (MSG): "I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. I remember it all—oh, how well I remember— the feeling of hitting the bottom. But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God. It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times." This week's episode is based on my first blog post and sharing of our NICU experience in July 2017 when both twins were still in the NICU. In this episode, I am joined by my amazing husband, Maurice Mathis, as we discuss the ins and outs of the path leading to our NICU journey with our miracle twins, Gordyn and Winston. Born at 30 weeks, 6 days, Gordyn and Winston spent 6 and 13 weeks respectively in the NICU. Though they were nearly 31 weekers, Winston was born with a rare condition called Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR), which is characterized by extremely low birth weight for gestational age. So, while he was born at 30 weeks, he as measuring at the approximate size of a 24 or 25 weeker. Winston was 1 lb, 8 oz at birth, as compared to his twin sister, who was born at 2 lbs, 15 oz. In some cases, babies with IUGR have are born with down syndrome, various chromosomal issues, or even stillborn, because they have their umbilical cord has not made way for enough bloodflow, oxygen, and nutrients throughout the pregnancy. The journey to their birth after we discovered the growth restriction (at 25 weeks) was challenging, but we were able to cling tightly to the strength and hope of Jesus during that time. Our desire is to provide supernatural hope to families who, like us, know that they will face a NICU journey or those families that are currently journeying through the difficult roller coaster of the NICU. This weekend, on September 20th, in honor of our final NICU graduation, we are launching Notes of Hope from 6.27, a greeting card line designed to assist loved ones of those currently in the NICU in infusing hope into the lives of their loved ones currently facing the battle of the NICU. Notes of Hope from 6.27 is curated to be a weekly infusion of hope. The cards are created in specialty small batches and are designed to help families through their NICU journeys. The NICU can often be an isolating and lonely experience, and family and friends often don't know what to say or do to help their loved ones. Based on our experience, we want to send messages of love, strength and hope to families that are currently facing the most difficult challenge of their lives, known as the NICU. Our reassurance in providing this hope lies in these words shared in II Corinthians 1:3-4, "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." Our mission is simple, to comfort other who are in trouble with the same comfort and hope that we have received!
