Paul Tiyambe Zeleza is the Vice Chancellor and Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United States International University-Africa, Nairobi, Kenya.He is a graduate of the University of Malawi, holds a Masters' degree in African history and international relations from the University of London and a Ph.D. in economic history from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in Canada. He is one of Africa’s leading diaspora intellectuals who has taught and been an administrator in universities in six countries on three continents. He has authored influential and award winning publications on African economic history and the African diaspora. His book, "In Search of African Diasporas: Testimonies and Encounters" was the inspiration of this episode.
