This week on the Refresh, Kenny and Adam sit down with Stan's athlete Evelyn Dong. Learn about her storied cycling and Nordic ski racing careers and her recent decision to not participate in the upcoming Pro XCT races being held in Arkansas. Evelyn decided not to attend the races in Arkansas in response to laws recently passed in the state that limit options for health care and sports participation for transgender people. Kenny and Adam chat with Evelyn about why she’s not racing, how difficult it was to make this decision, and some of the larger questions around this issue. Kenny and Adam also catch up on cycling world news and offer a Tech Tip for breaking out the bike after a long winter's nap.
This week on the Refresh, Adam heads to the Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival and talks with Brittany Phelps, the Event Director of the festival. Incoming! Here's a fresh news DART. The North American XC racing scene held its first event of 2021 this past weekend in Fountain Hills, Arizona. In this special News DART, Kenny gives Adam a recap of the recent Cactus Cup. The Cactus Cup is a long-standing XC stage race that usually kicks off the race season and has always served as an early-season opportunity to test one's legs.  Kenny was out there supporting our riders while taking some rad photos of the racing action.  Kenny saw it all go down, so he gives us a brief rundown of how the races played out
This week on the Refresh, Kenny and Adam sat down with Duncan McGuire of Maxxis tires. Duncan is the Assistant Manager of the Bicycle Tire Division at Maxxis , AKA he makes the decision on whether or not to sponsor your favorite riders. Duncan talks with the guys about his time at Maxxis, what it's like working with high-profile athletes, and sheds some light on the inner workings of the company itself.
