When I was put in charge of keeping an eye on our cat in labor, I didn't know that God was placing me into the midst of what would be a life-saving moment. Yet, there I was, with an ice-cold, unmoving newborn kitten that had fallen away and out of reach from its mother. I scooped the baby up and prayed that God would help me save its life.In this episode, I tell my story about my kitten rescue. However, as important as our little baby kitten is, the truth from this situation transcends what happened on our farm and becomes a parable that can teach and inspire us. Thing is, God wants His people to stand in the gap for others. That's the why for the Family Disciple Me ministry, and that should be the why for every one who claims His Name. So, why do you what you do? Are your eyes open when you see a need Jesus is pointing out to you? Are you willing to fight for someone else's life - be that physical, emotional, spiritual, or whatever - when God calls you to stand in the gap for them?God's Word challenges us to bear one another's burdens, and Jesus sets the example of leaving the 99 to go after the 1, in the Name of Jesus. This little kitten parable inspires me in my story as I serve Him, and I pray it will encourage you, too.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Seven years back, I (Tosha Williams) experienced a near death accident. I teetered on the brink of eternity, an ordeal that ultimately transformed how I embrace each day. Join me as I recount the moment when I stared death in the face and the miraculous journey when God brought me back to the land of the living. Through my story, I hope you'll examine the fragile thread of your own life and let God's strong purpose fill your days. You may have never had a near death experience like me, but the truth is - the clock is ticking on your life as well as mine. You’re living on borrowed time, too. As I share my story with you, I want you to think about YOUR story and what motivates you for how you live your life.Let's lead lives that echo into eternity. No need for a near-death experience to grasp the weight of this message; each second is an opportunity to live our lives for Jesus with great purpose and meaning.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Have you ever embraced a label that the world might see as foolish? Join me, as I candidly discuss the notion of what 1 Corinthians 4:10 calls being "a fool for Christ." This may raise eyebrows, but it fuels my (Tosha Williams) unwavering dedication to ministry, both in the local church and in Family Disciple Me. Though I am publishing this episode on April Foods Day, it isn't about jest; it's about what motivates us in our faith journey. I pull back the curtain on my life, where being an Airbnb host isn't just a means to an end—it's a sometimes humbling job I'm willing to do to live a life that glorifies Jesus. Though the whispers of criticism and doubt that lurks in the shadows, but these can't dim the brightness of His calling, no matter how counter-cultural being "a fool for Christ" may seem. So, what does it mean to live fearlessly for something greater than ourselves? I invite you to ponder your own life's purpose and to consider what it means to live boldly for Jesus. Let's unite in the joy and challenge of a life lived fully for Him.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. How does the name "Family Disciple Me" encapsulate our ministry's vision, mission, and journey? That's the story I, Tosha Williams, am excited to share with you in this episode, as we talk about the profound meaning behind this ministry. From its conception as 'Mommy Disciple Me' into a ministry that embraces and equips the wider family of God, the name "Family Disciple Me" both identifies and challenges those of us who embrace it's mission.I'll take you back to the pivotal moment in 2017, when inspiration struck and the name Family Disciple Me firmly took root, symbolizing a commitment to devotion-driven discipleship that reaches across the globe. With insights from Mark 3:31-35, we'll explore how 'family' transcends our immediate kin, fostering relationships within God's  family, and how the term 'disciple' is both an identity and an active call to action. This episode is an invitation into a multifaceted discipleship experience – a blend of learning, growth, and reaching out. Unpack the layers with me as we engage in a conversation that challenges, encourages, and empowers us to both be and make disciples in God's family.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Do you know the true story of St. Patrick? Beyond the festive trappings of March's familiar revelry, the real St. Patrick lived a life that was absolutely transformed by Jesus. In this episode, as we commemorate the first anniversary of our podcast, we delve into Patrick's early life in Britain, his trials during captivity in Ireland, and the profound faith that guided him through his darkest moments. Patrick's escape and subsequent return to the land of his enslavement reveal a narrative not of a mythical saint, but of a true Christ follower, whose legacy of spreading Christianity is punctuated by remarkable courage and devotion.Join me (Tosha Williams) in reflecting on how St. Patrick's life gives us an example to follow, as he brought the light of Christ to a dark country. In addition, Patrick's teachings became woven into the fabric of Irish culture, fostering literacy and the creation of revered texts like the Book of Kells.  Patrick also championed the end of slavery and the value of women, leaving an indelible mark on history extending far beyond the confines of his feast day. We'll close with a blessing inspired by Patrick's own words, a call to live with the same conviction and purpose that defined the life of one of history's most enduring spiritual icons. Let's honor the true essence of St. Patrick's Day by considering the true story that he leaves behind - - - which is about so much more than shamrocks and leprechauns!______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Join me, Tosha Williams, as we unearth an epiphany from my personal devotion in the letters to the Thessalonians—words that resonate deeply with the core mission of Family Disciple Me. The Scripture from 1 Thessalonians chapter 2 that captivated me speaks volumes about discipleship and our role as Christ followers. This episode is an invitation for every believer to embrace the Great Commission as their own, echoing Jesus' call to His early followers. In this episode, I highlight the power of encouraging, empowering and equipping are pivotal in guiding others towards a life worthy of God's calling. As someone who's walked with Christ and served alongside my husband in ministry for three decades, I have seen firsthand the hesitancy many believers have in sharing their faith. However, this episode seeks to break down these barriers. I share insights into my approach to Scripture reading that keeps revealing new truths, and discuss how the Family Disciple Me ministry aims to instill confidence and capability in Christians to carry forth the Gospel. Prepare to be encouraged and equipped to step into your divine mandate, realizing that discipleship is not reserved for the few but is a personal, empowering mission for every person who claims the Name of Christ.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. On the weekend that marked the beginning of my  jubilee with Jesus, I was privileged to stand before the congregation at Vanguard Church and share a message. The given passage for the weekend - 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 - was a very significant one for me, as I reflected on my life and the call Jesus has on all of us to be His disciples. In this message, I got to share my own personal testament of a life transformed by faith and issued a clarion call to others to do the same. I recounted the example of how my husband Kelly's dedication to Scripture reading impacted me then led to spiritual growth in others, too. After all, what is our legacy if not the impact we make through living out our God-given purpose? In this episode, I share stories of individuals who have used their careers as platforms for ministry, exemplifying how our divine calling transcends our day jobs. As I announce this as the jubilee year of freedom, I urge us all to dedicate ourselves to a bold and authentic discipleship that changes lives, including our own.  ______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Imagine setting a goal as a young adult and seeing it through a hundredfold, decades later. This is the story of my husband, Pastor Kelly Williams, who joins me in my cozy "cloffice" to share his extraordinary journey of reading through the Bible 100x. This commitment forged in his college years is a tale of unwavering dedication and the profound impact that this spiritual discipline can have on a life. Our brief conversation in this episode not only celebrates his incredible milestone but also challenges all of us in our pursuit of God's Word.My husband's daily commitment to Scripture became a disciplined practice interwoven throughout the fabric of his pastoral life and personal devotion. Despite the relentless pace of daily duties and the multifaceted demands of ministry, he has remained steadfast to his promise, absorbing God's Word every day, ten chapters at a time. Kelly's story is a vivid reminder that consistency results in transformation, and it's an invitation for all of us to consider how such dedication might affect our own lives and spiritual journeys. Join Kelly and I as we delve into a discussion that is less about a number and more about the life-changing power of a disciplined relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. As I continue marking 49 years of walking with Christ since childhood, I (Tosha Williams) want us to take a few moments to explore the enduring influence of early spiritual guidance. As the founder of Family Disciple Me, I believe it is so important to nourish faith in the young, and I look  at my own experience as a testament to the power of introducing Jesus to children. This episode is not just a look back at my spiritual journey; it is a call to action, challenging each of us to consider our role in being conduits of faith to the next generation. This conversation weaves through the significance of Jesus's welcoming spirit towards children, urging us to embody that same spirit within our circles of influence. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or a volunteer in children's ministry, the question stands: How are you making Jesus known to the young ones in your life? As we share stories and insights, this episode serves as an inspiring reminder of the responsibility we bear and the beautiful outcomes that can arise when we faithfully shepherd children towards a relationship with Christ.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. I (Tosha Williams) never anticipated that watching my future daughter-in-law, Kasey, dip her toes into the ocean for the first time would reveal a spiritual epiphany. But the waves of insight came crashing in, and I'm eager to share with you a journey that starts with what I've come to call "zero-entry devotion and discipleship." In this episode, I share story that revealed to me a powerful lesson about easing into the vast sea of faith, step by gentle step. Together, we'll navigate the delicate process of guiding new believers, using the serene backdrop of the ocean to illustrate how the initial splash at 'Baby Beach' can lead to the confident exploration of deeper spiritual waters. In the currents of our conversation, we'll move beyond the shallows, embracing the role each of us plays in walking alongside others as they venture further out into the depths of discipleship. It's about more than teaching; it's about holding hands at the shoreline and journeying verse by verse into the heart of God's Word. The mission of Family Disciple Me Ministry shines through as we discuss the power of equipping, empowering, and encouraging those around us in the profound adventure of faith. Join me as I share how the simple act of wading into the ocean with Kasey became a metaphor for the transformational path of discipleship that awaits us all.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. As I reflect on half a century of faith and fellowship, I, Tosha Williams, find myself embarking on an extraordinary year of Jubilee, a time to declare freedom and cast off the chains of fear that bind us. This episode is not just a celebration but a personal invitation to you, the listener, to journey with me towards liberation, inspired by the ancient words of Leviticus and the transformative power of Isaiah's prophecy. In the intimate space of this podcast, I share a profound shift in understanding that occurred while searching for comfort and assurance for my daughter, Anastasia, amid the trials of childbirth. Discover how a single Hebrew word found in Isaiah 41:10 reshaped my perspective on fear and how it can revolutionize your own struggles. Together, let's explore what it truly means to fix our gaze upon the steadfast promises of God, rather than the daunting shadows of our anxieties. As we navigate our respective paths to freedom, this episode serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that with God's righteous right hand to uphold us, we are never alone.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. Today marks the beginning of my personal year of Jubilee. This is a biblical celebration, the completion of 7 cycles of 7 years (see Leviticus 25:8). I gave my life to Christ as a little four year old girl, and yesterday, I marked my personal 49th spiritual birthday. The first day after completing the 49th year is the beginning of the Year of Jubilee - - - the Year of the Lord's Favor. I (Tosha) am leaning into this, learning its significance, and proclaiming its truth, for my life and for the lives of those entrusted to me.The Bible says, "You are to consecrate the 50th year and proclaim freedom in the land for all its inhabitants. It will be your Jubilee." (Leviticus 25:10) This proclamation of freedom is carried out in Isaiah 61:1-2 and in Luke 4:18-19. In this episode, I proclaim this freedom that God has for all of us as we "Seek Him Speak Him."Will you be a part of this celebration? Will you lean into what God has for you and for us this year? I hope you will engage and share with others the freedom that God gives in the Jubilee.______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. As we round the corner into the holidays, one last podcast to celebrate "Remember November." The Bible says:  "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith" (Hebrews 13:7). In this episode, I (Tosha) share how my husband's spiritual journey and example in reading the Bible has impacted my life so very much. His is a pretty amazing story, and I'm so thankful - as we "Remember November" - to have watched it up close and personal. But even more important than my story, what's your story? Who is impacting your life, and whose life are you impacting? Devotion Driven Discipleship means that we seek the Lord then we lead others to seek Him, too! What an amazing privilege and responsibility as Christ followers! Listen in and be encouraged for your own life and story! We live in a world where sleepnessness is epidemic, and the pharmaceutical world offers all sorts of sleep aids. However, what if there's a better way, a more biblical way? I (Tosha) have personally experienced that remembering God's Word is helpful in my days as well as in my nghts. The Bible says,  "As I lie on my bed I remember you. I think of you all night long" (Psalm 63"6 NIRV). So here's a radical suggestion - - - what if we train our minds to concentrate on the Lord and His Word when we go to bed, instead of taking prescriptions and sleep aids? Listen to this podcast and be encouraged to memorize and meditate on God's Word. God will use this in your life - guaranteed! As we walk through "Remember November," the Family Disciple Me Board and Team is remembering with gratitude those who have faithfully given financially to the FDM ministry this year. If you are one of those people, THANK YOU!  Our prayer is that you will be blessed beyond measure, in accordance with your giving and sacrifice. We base this prayer on the promise of 2 Corinthians 9:6-12, which says: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work... 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God." (2 Corinthians 9:6-12)May you experience God's blessing in your life and family, this Thanksgiving and always! ______________________The Family Disciple Me Podcast is a ministry of Family Disciple Me, which exists to catalyze Devotion Driven Discipleship in our homes and around the world. It's Remember November - - - - and the question is, what are you remembering right now? Recently, my (Tosha's) husband Kelly said in a sermon, "What you choose to remember about your past has everything to do with what you'll be looking for in your future!" How true this is! With that in mind, we want to lean into "Remember November." 2 Peter 3:1b-2a says, "I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember..." - - - and THAT'S what this podcast is all about! God wants us to remember His faithfulness, His goodness, His provision, His answers to prayers, His help through hard times. As we remember these things, our hearts will be stirred to deep gratitude for the past and encouragement for the future.Listen, remember, and be filled with hope! An ultrasound peek into the next generation of my (Tosha's) family has me thinking about Deuteronomy 4:9, where God says: "Take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children..."  God is entrusting the next generation to my family, and thing is, He's entrusted people to all of us! God has given the Family Disciple Me ministry a very specific mission, and that is to catalyze what we call "Devotion Driven Discipleship" both here in our own lives and relationships, as well as around the world. In this episode, FDM Founder Tosha Williams tells the story about how she spent time with Jesus, seeking Him about the words to use to articulate the FDM mission. During a snowy, blowy week, He was the One who said:  Devotion Driven Discipleship. This is something that the Family Disciple Me ministry has been encouraging people to do for years through "Seek Him Speak Him." The phrase "Devotion Driven Discipleship" now summarizes that practice. This is, indeed, the mission of FDM - - - but it’s so much more. We believe that Devotion Driven Discipleship is a mindset that has the ability to impact everything about the influence of believers around the world. With Devotion Driven Discipleship, YOU,  friend, can rise up - no matter what your age or stage in life, no matter how long you have been a Christ-follower, no matter how much you - or don’t know! - about the Bible God’s Word - and YOU can make a profound influence in the lives of those God entrusts to you. It’s so simple - but, at the same time, it is absolutely epic. Want to know more?
