PANGARANG!!!! RU-FI-OOOOOOHHHHHH!!!! These are words that all red blooded cinephiles who grew up in the 90's know very well... maybe not Derryk, but we won't hold it against him. This weeks episode is the 90's classic, at least in my opinion, and Spielbergian motion picture, HOOK!!! Enjoy our discussion on how cool it is that there was SOOO many stars in this movie and it isn't even a MARVEL movie. Pretty nuts? Also that there was a Glenn Close cameo in the movie, and you can't even tell it's HER!!! In any case, we do this always, with a song in our hearts, and a drink in our hands!!! Good day to you all!! It's time for another ROUSING episode of Movies on the Rocks!! Today is a special one as it's Elias' last show, at least for the foreseeable future. We know he will always be welcome. What a great episode to go out on. A fantastic film, not only western. The magnum opus of Sergio Leone's career. Possibly the greatest western of all time, and that is saying something. It has everything from desperados, robber barons, murderers, mystery men and damsels in not so distress. Plus some of the greatest shots in movie history. An amazing film and a great way to end his time on the show (for now.) So go ahead and give us a listen, but beware of the harmonica. A fantastic movie (at least by my account) that has a killer screenplay, killer direction and fantastic acting (at least in my opinion). We discuss the Ari Aster motion picture Herediatary. Considered one of the best horror films of the last 10 years. Strangely this is the second Ari Aster movie we have done. The first was last year's special where we spoke about Midsommar. Considered a horror CLASSIC!! But give us a listen and watch the movie on your own. Well in any case, this episode is the time jumping, black hole diving, planet exploring movie directed by the inimitable Christopher Nolan. It's our second time diving into one of his movies after we did THE PRESTIGE (said in my best Michael Caine) in season 1. We hope you enjoy all the twists and turns we took to get to the end. Definitely is one of his worst picks and one of Jackie Chan's lesser enjoyable movies. But if you like grappling hooks out of nowhere and horseback riding on the beach when they have never shown a beach or a horse... this is the flick for you! Here we go!! This next episode we brought back an old guest to the show, Elias. He was on our season 1 Hard Boiled episode title the Paquete Episode and he did not disappoint. Also since this was paquete part 2, it was only fitting to present John Woo's first foray into american cinema, Hard Target. One of my favorite cheesy 90's flicks. WOW!! This movie had some STARPOWER!! Not just De Niro and Pacino, but Kilmer, Voight, Trejo, Sizemore, etc., etc., etc. The list goes on in this movie. Not just that, but Derryk has realy brought some bangers... and some duds... but, hey. Who's counting? If the title is any description, you are in for a treat. Treat as in our description of quite possibly the WORST movie any of us have ever seen. I mean, this movie is possibly worse than In the Army Now, which has the distinction of being the worst movie we have reviewed on this podcast!! I will say, that this one is a bit of a DOOZY since it's like Casino but with Porn instead of gangsters... also no gambling, but we do have drugs... lots and lots of drugs... mostly coke... yeah... just coke and alcohol... but in any case, listen and see what you think. EPISODE 52 IS IN THE BOOKS!! This episode we are reviewing a little movie known as Vengeance. It's a small movie that didn't get seen by alot of people, but should be. It's a cool little investigative movie with a not so heroic protagonist. But it also espouses the beauties and wonder that is Whataburger, which is in the honest opinion of this podcaster and my partners, possibly the great fast food eatery on the planet!! I may be putting words in their mouths, but who cares!! It's my hill and I am dying on it!!
