I recommend comparing notes with the podcast "Crime Junkie", " Monsters of Ohio". Aired in June 2020, there are many similarities to this case: Time frame, location proximity, victim, etc. Most important is that there is mention of a good suspect. Bless you for working so hard to solve this. My prayers to all.
