In this episode, we are discussing, our distractions which we feel mentally every other day always fall behind in thinking the best for ourselves. Hence today’s topic is “Focus on Our Goals – Attention Doesn’t Matter” Mothers, often the linchpin of the family unit, find themselves pulled in myriad directions, tending to the demands of daily life. Amidst the chaos, it's essential to recognize that attention alone doesn't always translate to progress or personal fulfillment. Self-care goes beyond physical health; it encompasses mental and emotional well-being. Taking moments for relaxation, pursuing hobbies, or simply indulging in activities that bring joy contribute to a mother's resilience and ability to navigate the challenges of motherhood.Amidst the mass responsibilities, we mothers must actively carve out time for self-care. It could be as simple as dedicating moments for reflection, engaging in activities that promote relaxation, or seeking support when needed. Guidance is the compass that directs children toward positive values, empathy, and a sense of responsibility. Mothers play a pivotal role in shaping their children's character, instilling essential life skills, and nurturing their innate potential. Through love, care, and guidance, mothers can create a supportive environment where children can flourish emotionally, intellectually, and morally. In the delicate balance between family and personal goals, self-care and self-respect serve as cornerstones. In the episode I am sharing my thoughts and ways to overcome the scenario when we mothers fall sick or when the flu strikes. Just like everyone else, can fall victim to the flu, and the symptoms may vary. Fever, body aches, fatigue, and respiratory symptoms are common indicators. If we notice these signs in ourself, it's time to take action. The first step is acknowledging the symptoms and not brushing them off. Sometimes, we tend to downplay our health issues, thinking we can power through. However, with the flu, it's crucial to listen to the body and take the necessary steps.Mothers should not hesitate to share how you're feeling and what you need. Let your partner, family members, and friends know about your situation. Sometimes, loved ones may not be aware of the extent of your struggle unless you communicate it to them."Mealtime can be a challenge when we Mothers are unwell. As we know, simplicity is key. We want meals that are easy to prepare but still packed with essential nutrients. Consider soups or any other simple meal that requires minimal effort. These can be not only nutritious but also soothing for us."With mom under the weather, keeping the kids entertained and the household running smoothly becomes a team effort. It's a challenge many families face when moms are under the weather – keeping the household running smoothly and engaging the kids. "Sometimes, a bit of comfort can go a long way. We'll delve into natural remedies and comfort measures that can help alleviate flu symptoms, providing moms with a bit of relief during their recovery." Navigating motherhood when the flu strikes is no easy feat, but with awareness, self-care, and a strong support system, mothers can overcome the weather storm. Request all of you to listen to this episode and share your views or if you have any topics or any thoughts about my podcast write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.Support the showSoma ThakurMother Coach, Lifestyle Educator & Mentorwww.somathakur.com
In this episode, I am having a superb conversation with Valerie Cockerell, She is Confident, Self-made, ready to take any challenges, and always open to work in any position with great passion and pride. She is a keynote speaker and facilitates various workshops with her husband Dan. She loves to share her expertise and methodology in leading teams and has the ability to deliver outstanding customer service. Valerie was born and raised in France where she graduated from Institut Pitiot-Lyon II with a degree in Business hospitality. She participated in the World Showcase Fellowship program at Epcot in 1987/88. After working as an investment advisor for a bank, she eventually joined Disneyland Paris in 1991 as a retail manager and ran multiple merchandise locations in the Resort division. She eventually joined the Merchandise Buying Office and oversaw the assortment planning for all Resort merchandise locations at Disneyland Paris. With her new book "Manage like a Mother" Valerie brings a simple-to-understand and easy-to-implement take on leadership inspired by a mother's playbook.  Using a mother's playbook, Valerie shares her no-nonsense approach to leadership by sharing stories and strategies that illustrate how leaders, men or women, can leverage "the wisdom of Mom" and enhance their leadership style. The responsibilities of a leader, much like ones of a mother, require consistency, diplomacy, a fair amount of patience, a long-term commitment, the flexibility to adapt to different personalities, and last but not least, the willingness to adapt and learn "on the job". A mother's approach to training, building a close relationship with her kids, encouraging and supporting them, providing coaching and guidance when needed, and dealing with crisis situations are just some of the many similarities that exist between raising children and leading a team effectively. Valerie's approach is easy to understand, relatable, and memorable. Her audience members can discover tools and tactics that are easy to implement so they can make an impact in their organizations. In this episode I am sharing about the feeling of being an Imperfect Mother, which I personally love, and being like that is “Proud to be an Imperfect Mother”- I am embracing this tagline. Motherhood is an extraordinary journey filled with love, joy, and endless moments of self-discovery. As mothers, we often strive for perfection, hoping to be the epitome of nurturing, selfless, and patient caregivers. However, in this pursuit of perfection, we sometimes forget that it is the imperfections that make us human and unique. Grabbing our flaws and celebrating our imperfections is essential for not only our well-being but also for building authentic connections with our children. Being a proud imperfect mother is not a weakness; it is a source of strength, growth, and love.As mothers, we are bombarded with societal expectations and portrayals of "perfect" parenting. But in truth, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to motherhood. Each child is different, and each mother's journey is distinct. Embracing authenticity means acknowledging that we may not have all the answers, and that's okay. We learn and grow along with our children, making mistakes, and celebrating every success together.Being proud to be an imperfect mother means embracing the messy, chaotic, and beautiful reality of motherhood. It is about letting go of unrealistic expectations and societal pressures and choosing to love ourselves unconditionally. Our imperfections do not define our worth as mothers; they enrich our journey, teaching us valuable lessons along the way. By accepting and celebrating our imperfections, we cultivate a nurturing environment where our children can grow, learn, and flourish, knowing that they, too, are loved and accepted for who they are. So, let us wear our imperfections with pride and continue this remarkable journey of motherhood with authenticity, resilience, and unconditional love. Request all of you to listen to this episode and share your view or if you have any topics or any thoughts about my podcast write to me at somathakur@gmail.com and follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates.Support the showSoma ThakurMother Coach, Lifestyle Educator & Mentorwww.somathakur.com

In this episode, I am sharing the details about how Parental Conflict often affects Children's Mental health. This is a very important topic to talk about and discuss because we parents fight and take out all our frustration but think about those small souls who had done nothing but the impact on their minds is horrible and throughout their life, it keeps on effect.  A child's mental health can be significantly impacted by their parents' bad relationship. The quality of the parental relationship is an important factor in a child's overall well-being and development But a few elements which hit badly in Children's Mental  health are;Emotional distress: Witnessing constant conflict, hostility, or violence between parents can cause significant emotional distress for a child. They may feel anxious, scared, or helpless, which can lead to long-term emotional difficulties. Insecurity and instability: A turbulent relationship between parents can create an unstable and unpredictable home environment. This lack of stability can make a child feel insecure, affecting their sense of safety and ability to trust others. Going down self-esteem in Child is possible for various reasons, I mean to say if the children is in school and the teacher scolds them for their bad performance or nuisance their self-esteem becomes very low, but this starts always at home when they witness their parents fighting often and which in turn create a negative impact on them. Have you ever wondered why some kids behave very weirdly in front of people or even in school, you know why? because of their disturbing minds, or their behavioral problems? Starts from home when they are exposed to a hostile or unhealthy parental relationship and may exhibit behavioral problems such as aggression, defiance, or withdrawal. We being Parents always blame kids for not performing in school, but have you wondered what the reason behind this is, we always insist them concentrate on their studies but they fail to give proper focus On their work because of a disturbed mind and their struggle become double in the academic front. Better relationships at home with parents and Children create a very positive impact in kid’s life. Because it helps kids to become open about their thoughts and share their potential ideas with parents and the world. But if they are Growing up in an environment with a bad parental relationship can shape a child's future relationships. How many of us really give thought to the Mental health issues of our Child: Prolonged exposure to parental conflict can increase the risk of developing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ongoing stress and emotional turmoil can have a lasting impact on a child's psychological well-being.

When two different cultures met and collided they often have distinct values, beliefs, and norms. When these clash, it can lead to disagreements and conflicts. Each culture has its own way of viewing the world, societal roles, and moral standards, which can create misunderstandings and tension. There were also several communication Challenges that had different communication styles that complicate interactions between cultures.Without proper communication leads to misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and frustration may arise when trying to express ideas or intentions. Effective communication strategies like active listening and seeking clarification, can help bridge the gap. In this episode, I am sharing details about The challenges and rewards of being a new mother. Being a new mother can be an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience. Here are some of the challenges and rewards you might experience,Lack of sleep: Newborns typically require frequent feedings and diaper changes, which can lead to sleep deprivation for new mothers. Lack of sleep is a common issue for new mothers, especially in the first few months after giving birth. This is because newborns typically wake up frequently throughout the night to be fed, changed, or comforted.Physical recovery: Giving birth is a significant physical event that can take a toll on a new mother's body. Recovery can take weeks or even months. Physical recovery is another important aspect of postpartum care for new mothers. Adjusting to a new routine: Having a baby changes your daily routine and can be difficult to adjust to, especially if you are returning to work or have other responsibilities. Adjusting to a new routine is a common challenge for new mothers. In this episode, I am sharing about Motherhood challenges. Being a mother every challenges and struggles are unique and but how can we cherish those moments later by making these challenges less stressful?  There are several challenges mothers are facing on an everyday basis, but a few I am listing down which I personally realized post Covid-19, · Digital addiction: Children of all ages are hooked to cell phones these days. We can’t blame our kids, it’s all about us, parents are also responsible for this act because we have always hooked ourselves to our phones and browsed through the day, then how come we can restrict our children from these gadgets? They find it really interesting when they watch us on phone. · Fussy eating habits: This problem is basically with 90% of the parents who are facing this issue on an everyday basis. Till the age of 02 years, kids are really fussy with their food habits. Even my daughter is a big-time fussy eater. The struggle started when my daughter started having semiliquid food and the process is still on. She is very fussy because of the taste factor. · Unwilling to study: this is also a habit that most of the kids are down with, their willingness to study is very less. It has a reason because they find it interesting to study together in class with their friends. They feel the joy of giving answers first and taking credit from the teacher.  · Aggression: Aggression in kids is very common because when they grow their thought process changes so the demands for small things start, and they even don’t have any idea. One thing which I have realized with my daughter is, she doesn’t love the instructions, she loves to be a part of my work. She loves to help me in the kitchen. Discipline is a way of teaching and a way of enhancing a good parent-child relationship. Given the unique struggles that mothers face, it is essential that we learn how to manage our resources efficiently. Mothers can benefit from budgeting, seeking out support networks, and advocating for their children’s needs. Additionally, we may find strength and solace in participating in social activities with other mothers in similar situations. With the right skills and resources, we can build strong, secure foundations for our children. Please listen to this episode and share your view also if you have any topic which you want me to cover on my Podcast please write to me @somathakur@gmail.com and you can also follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates. Support the showSoma ThakurMother Coach, Lifestyle Educator & Mentorwww.somathakur.com
In this episode, I am sharing about kids' fear, we feel it's very normal but it’s not.Have you all seen one thing which is very common in our kids fear, they often fear small things. Have we ever wondered, if this fear is a natural behavior of a child or because of the surrounding kids getting this fear?I believe there are certain situations where we parents are also responsible for this fearful behavior. I have personally realized how my parents used to make me aware of things, like don’t go near dogs they bite. And then stay away from dark places, something can harm you. I still remember I was very scared to check under beds at night, I used to fear far loud noises like thunder. Same time even the concept behind parents make us cautious about a few things definitely for our betterment but slowly it creates a fear space in our heart. What I have seen personally in my daughter when she was an infant is she needs me every time. She cries when I am away. I used to Comfort her by saying, "It's OK, you're safe, I'm here." Let our children know we're there to protect them. Give hugs and soothing words to help your child feel safe. Most kids cope with normal fears with gentle support from their parents as they grow, they get over fears they had at a younger age. Some kids have a harder time and need more help with fears. If fears are extreme or keep a child from doing normal things, it might be a sign of an anxiety disorder.Being parent what we can do is to make situations very normal for them and make them realize that if things are bad there are ways to handle them rather than getting panicked. We can calm down and solve every issue, it’s not a matter to scare it’s all about facing them with courage.
In this episode, I am sharing about how to hydrate your skin in Winter for Mothers and Kids. Whenever Winter comes we rush to market to buy a branded Moisturizer or Lotions to soften and hydrate our skin including our Child. But is it really working or helpful to get rid of the dryness? Not at all, we need to start nourishing our body internally and have loads of those foods which is full of nutrition and have the power to hydrate. Here I am going to talk about those natural elements to add and have to take on a daily basis.    The first natural element which is amazing and has healing properties is Coconut Water, which helps our body to hydrate and provides energy.  Any season you can consume this on an empty stomach it has no sugar and is completely natural. Regular consumption of this water will help to reduce wrinkles, blemishes, and fine lines, acne.     The second natural element which I love because of its benefits for babies to Old people is Ghee,  which is very good for the skin and the overall body, in season 1, I mentioned Ghee’s benefits for kids when they suffer from constipation, ·         softening and hydrate skin, provide a natural glow, lighten dark spots, repair dry or damaged skin, protect from cold, dry, windy weather and also treat cracked lips. No Lipbalm and any other lip dryness-restoring cream can beat this one.    The third natural element which I love most and is very very good for our skin is fresh fruit juices, But definitely not the packed one which is available in the market, which has loads of artificial elements and sugar.Make your juices every day at home with fresh fruits and have those, every fruit is very good for our skin. Never use white sugar in your juices, natural sweetener in fruits is more than enough for our body.  Forth natural element which is personally loved during this winter is Colorful Soups, we all crave hot soup, which has powerful nutrition which helps our skin to become healthy, why soup is healthy because we cook it less instead boil hence it’s loaded with nutrition. The liquid form of food always helps our skin to be hydrated and to reduce dryness. This one we all know but I personally emphasize to everyone to keep in mind is to drink plenty of water which helps our body to be toxin-free, hydrating, and helps to digest food properly.   Here before ending,  I would like to offer you a magical homemade completely natural moisturizer that is completely safe for Mother and baby skin, take aloe Vera gel which works like sunscreen, then add coconut oil along with almond oil together and mix it nicely and before keeping it in a bottle add 04-5 strands of saffron and last, not the least don’t forget to add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil for a nice fragrance. I love lavender, cooling water, and many more.  And please don't forget to drink loads of water,   Please listen to this episode and share your view and also if you have any topic on which you want me to cover on my Podcast please write to me @somathakur@gmail.com and you can also follow me on Instagram @somathakur.mothercoach for more updates. Support the showSoma ThakurMother Coach, Lifestyle Educator & Mentorwww.somathakur.com

In this episode, I am having a conversation with Dr.  Seema Desai, a Mother of 02 beautiful kids, A renowned doctor, and a loving husband. Life was all become a dreamland for her, but she was not been able to make life perfect every day for her, and her postpartum depression has given her life a different turning altogether. She is very particular about her family's happiness and really believes in the words "Unlock a Deeper Sense of Purpose and Joy".  Although she is having everything with her, somewhere she was not deeply happy about her postpartum process. She was depressed and all-time angry, but couldn't make out by herself what was wrong with her. But she had not given up, tried her best to understand the situation, and got back her happiness. Sacrifices are there everywhere, but if you are really focusing on your goal, nothing can stop you to achieve it moreover when a mother is taking action on this, accomplishment will definitely happen. She also practices Yoga and Meditation on regular basis and what I have learned from her is never ever force our body to work out, take it as a healing process. At a time one Yoga would be enough for us.  Recently she published her book "Connected: Discovering Your Inner Guides” , She has written this book with the intention to let the family knows about the connection between the kids and parents, which is really important. because we get frustrated for not being able to understand our kid's tantrums, and their anger, as per her it can be energy blockage, she has nicely explained all details in her book. I would request every mother who feels disconnected please read this, if you wish to read the book, please grab a copy, it's available on amazon.
