the POWER of LONGING

the POWER of LONGING

2024-04-3005:45

In this 5-minute & 45-second episode, I share this powerful quote by French writer, poet, and journalist Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,"If you want to build a ship, don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."  Listen in, and we will apply this wisdom to leadership, personal and professional goals, and calling you and me into our destiny. Let's paint a powerful vision and fall in love with the destination to inspire and motivate ourselves and others to build well and wisely.Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@uncommodified.comhttps://uncommodified.com/PRODUCER: Kris MacQueenTECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/

Here’s a rather uncomfortable truth … You are not experiencing the change you want to see in your personal or professional life because you are just not dissatisfied or pissed off enough.Listen to this 6-minute & 55-second episode, where I explore the relationship between dissatisfaction and change: the truth that the desire to change is energized and activated by the palpable and even painful discontent and dissatisfaction you and I have with the present state of something in our lives. It’s time to stop lying to ourselves about the things we say want to change but are not genuinely dissatisfied enough to take action. It’s time to grow dissatisfied and become aggressive antagonists of the status quo in ourselves and others to drive positive change. And it’s time to convert our dissatisfaction into positive action and become the answer to the problems we want to solve in ourselves and for others.Tim Windsor the UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guide tim@uncommodified.com https://uncommodified.com/ PRODUCER: Kris MacQueen TECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne Gagne MUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/

LIFE is a LONG GAME

LIFE is a LONG GAME

2024-02-2008:19

Life is hard some days, and it doesn't always turn out the way we expect it to in the moment. The secret I've discovered is that we must remind ourselves daily that this is a long game, a long haul, and a long, winding road will take us towards where we need to be.Listen to this 8-minute & 19-second episode, and let me remind you that life requires patience and a long-term perspective. Impatience and the desire for quick results can hinder our progress. It is essential to understand that some things take more time to materialize, and we must be patient and allow them to unfold naturally. The long-haul approach in life and business will lead to greater fulfillment and success. Believing in the possibility of change and being open to new chapters in our lives is crucial. Embracing the long game allows us to navigate obstacles and challenges with wisdom and resilience. Tim Windsor the UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guide tim@uncommodified.com https://uncommodified.com/   PRODUCER: Kris MacQueen TECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne Gagne MUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/

Listen to this 6-minute & 37-second episode and discover you have a superpower you can release anytime, a superpower that can create powerful positive change and effect for you and others. That superpower: the questions you choose to ask, not answers or the advice you give, not something you tell, but questions you choose to ask yourself and others. Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.comhttps://uncommodified.com/ PRODUCER: Kris MacQueenTECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
We all have "buttons," and when people push them, we respond immediately; sometimes, we respond positively and, most often, negatively. But if we're not careful, we'll put all the responsibility for our response on the person with the finger, not the person with the button. In this 7-minute & 5-second episode, we explore what happens when people push our "buttons" and how we can disconnect the power, remove the button, or rewrite the code. Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.comhttps://uncommodified.com/ PRODUCER: Kris MacQueenTECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
This UNCORK conversation with globally recognized CEO Advisor, Executive Coach, and Leadership Consultant Mahan Tavakoli tucks into Mahan's world, where he helps leaders understand and leverage AI's strategic potential and ensure that they can harness the power of emerging technologies while navigating the uncertainties of the digital age.Grab a coke or a coffee and listen in as we explore these questions: Why are the themes of leadership, strategy, execution and AI so vital to Mahan, and why should they be critical to you? How does ego interrupt the effective execution and adoption of new ideas? Do we reward or punish those who ask questions and encourage us to embrace uncertainty? How does "industrialized" education affect our ability to embrace the future? And what can the Starbucks logo teach us about seeing and embracing the beauty of imperfection?During the conversation, you will discover that:AI will challenge us to unlearn what our egos and education systems tell us about how humans will create value. In the new AI world … your value will not just be measured by your capacity and competency .. but by your ability to embrace uncertainty & ask more curious questions. And that to thrive in the age of machines, we will need to double down on our ability to be empathetic and therefore ... more human.  Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.comhttps://uncommodified.com/PRODUCERS: Kris MacQueen & Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
the POWER of PLAY

the POWER of PLAY

2023-10-0810:00

Some people, embarrassing me most days, believe that play should be the obsession only of children. But the truth is play is as vital for adults as it is for kids. My grandchildren's playmate, Nana Pam, my wife, and the subject matter experts that I've read all understand that there are powerful reasons why you and I need to learn to be more unabashedly playful. In this 10-minute episode, I read another section of my new book that encourages you to understand the wisdom that George Bernard Shaw expressed when he said, "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." Listen in and get the neuroscience of play working hard for you and understand that, as GK Chesterton said, "It might reasonably be maintained that the true object of all human life is play."My UNCOMMODiFiED book releases on October 13, 2023. It's available for preorder now on Amazon.Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.comPRODUCER: Kris MacQueenTECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
The genuinely unforgettable people who have impacted my life in the most significant ways are untamed and rather wild horses. Regardless of what their spirit animal is, it lives within them wild and unowned. They are unbridled and unbranded provocateurs. In this 7-minute and 36-second episode, I read from a section of my new book that encourages you to understand the power and potential of living UNBRIDLED and UNBRANDED and refusing to be controlled by others. As you will hear, my daughter Melissa is an example of this. Her untamed personality makes her unforgettable and inspires the wiser "cowboys" and "cowgirls" on the ranch. As you listen to this episode, challenge yourself to take the "bit" out of your mouth and the "bridle" off your head. My UNCOMMODiFiED book releases on October 13, 2023. It's available for preorder now on Amazon.Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.comPRODUCER: Kris MacQueenTECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
CENTRED not BOUNDED

CENTRED not BOUNDED

2023-09-1807:33

Do you just draw a boundary, a box of rules and regulations for you and others to adhere to and fit in? Are you a "you're in, or you're out" or "you're good,  or you're bad" kind of person.?  Or do you spend time identifying and calling yourself and others towards a life-giving, positive center to be attracted to and orbit around? In this 7-minute & 33-second episode, we explore these two different options or ways to get ourselves and others aligned and animated to live our values. The choice is clear to me … is it clear to you?Tim Windsor the UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guide tim@theuncommodified.com  PRODUCER: Kris MacQueen TECHNICAL EDITOR: Alyne Gagne MUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
This UNCORK conversation with Sarah Windsor (and yes, she is related to me) is all about PASSION, PURSUIT, and the POWER of PRESSING IN. Sarah is an artist who loves creating in various mediums, including acrylics, watercolours, collage, ink, wood burning, digital design and jewelry making. Initially trained in watercolour and printmaking, she has developed and adapted her skills to new mediums, resulting in a wondrous world of intricacy and detail. Sarah is an accomplished graphic and web designer who loves the versatility of the digital world but also loves making one-of-a-kind pieces that you can wear or hold in your hands. Grab a drink and listen in as we investigate these questions and thoughts: Is there an artist inside of all of us? What does your passion cause you to want to pursue? Who saw talent inside of you and called it out? What do others see in you that you can't see in yourself? Sometimes your passion pays, and sometimes it doesn't; the question is, will you pursue it when it only rewards you? What do you see in your mind that you need to get out into the real world? When is it good enough? You will find joy when you release your need to meet all the expectations of others. We need to unhinge ourselves from unhelpful and unhealthy expectations. We discover our true selves when we live beyond our business cards, titles, and job descriptions. It's dangerous to trade the real "you" for something and someone that you are not. And we need to learn to work at a small scale, go small, go slow; go small to go big, and observe the micro within the macro ... in smallness, there is a vastness that we all need to discover.Tim Windsorthe UNCOMMODiFiED Podcast – Host & Guidetim@theuncommodified.com PRODUCERS: Kris MacQueen & Alyne GagneMUSIC BY: https://themacqueens.ca/
