This #bowtieconvo was a respectful, open, and honest conversation with Old White Men about Race and Inclusion. We discussed the moment of realization for social change throughout their lifetime and effective ways and action steps for white men to take in today's society. I encourage you not to shy away from engaging white men of all backgrounds in the conversation about race and inclusion, age is number and maturity is a mindset, some may be open and some may not, but we will never know if we don't try.An all-star panel joined this conversation with years of experience in various professions and services to their community: Jeffry Cadorette, Charles Killian, Paul Reagan, and Mike Farabelli.  If you didn't get a chance to catch it live, please subscribe, listen, and share with others. To join or learn more about the Bowtie Conversation community, please subscribe to the channel or check out https://www.bowtieleadership.com/audio-resources Connect with Host Dr. "Bowtie" Todd: https://www.instagram.com/dr.bowtietodd/?hl=en https://linktr.ee/dr.bowtietodd
In this episode of the Bowtie Conversation, we discussed the importance of talking to children about race and inclusion. We learned parents are children’s introduction to the world, and educators are facilitators. What they see you do is as important as what they hear you say. Like language, prejudice is learned over time. In helping your child recognize and confront racial bias, you should first consider your own and many things around the conversation and exposure to inclusion. For this conversation we were joined by an all-star panel of educators and parents: The Franklin Family (Parents and Educators), Mr. Barry White (Popularized as “The Handshake Teacher”), Dr. Isha Metzger (Professor an Clinical Psychologist), and Rian Reed (CEO of Rian Reed & Co.) The first BowtieConvo webinar covered a range of critical topics around whiteness and allyship, which could sometimes be difficult to discuss. This interactive webinar invites you to reflect and define white privilege, allyship, and effective ways to engage as a white person who cares. We discussed whiteness as a racial identity with the understanding that acknowledging whiteness and the privilege and power attached to it is a necessary step in working toward racial justice and building inclusivity. For this conversation, we were joined by an all-star panel and my friends:D&I Speaker/Consultant/Author/Cheese Lover - Jess Pettitt  @JessPettitt  Canadian Entrepreneur & Changemaker - Stefan Kollenberg  @stefankbergProfessional Speaker- Tina VanSteenbergen  @TinaRaeVanAuthor/Speaker/Coach - James Robilotta  @JamesTRoboTo join or learn more about the Bowtie Conversation community, please subscribe to the channel or check out https://www.bowtieleadership.com/audio-resources Connect with Host Dr. "Bowtie" Todd: https://linktr.ee/dr.bowtietodd .**We apologize for the technical glitches and delays during the video!
