This #bowtieconvo was a respectful, open, and honest conversation with Old White Men about Race and Inclusion. We discussed the moment of realization for social change throughout their lifetime and effective ways and action steps for white men to take in today's society. In this episode of the Bowtie Conversation, we discussed the importance of talking to children about race and inclusion. We learned parents are children’s introduction to the world, and educators are facilitators. What they see you do is as important as what they hear you say. Like language, prejudice is learned over time. In helping your child recognize and confront racial bias, you should first consider your own and many things around the conversation and exposure to inclusion. We learned more about the diversity, equity, and inclusion profession and trends in this episode of the Bowtie Conversation. The first BowtieConvo webinar covered a range of critical topics around whiteness and allyship, which could sometimes be difficult to discuss. This interactive webinar invites you to reflect and define white privilege, allyship, and effective ways to engage as a white person who cares.
