I went into the recording of this podcast ready to tear comedian/writer Neil Rubenstein a new one with how bad I thought acclaimed sitcom "Friends" is....I mean...it's just bad, right? A lame 90s sitcom loved by the bland and spicelessNeil proved me wrong folks. Proved me wrong and reminded me of how much I loved the series as a kid with it's clever writing, wonderful cast, and frequent passing of the bek-something test. Friends might not be for everyone, but after hearing about Neil gush about HBO's gazillion dollar baby made me want to pirate a few episodes and check it out again. This episode is brought to ya by Cana TherapeuticsGo check them out for all your CBD needs. This episode is actually a lil late due to this thing I get in my neck once in a while. Is it a pinched nerve? Stress? Gas? I dunno, but I can barely turn my head, and with the help of Cana Therapeutics 50mg CBD gummies I'm in way less pain than without them. GPP#32 [Chess] w/ Geo Perez

GPP#32 [Chess] w/ Geo Perez

2021-01-1401:49:12

Shout out to Cana Therapeutics for sponsoring this episode of the show! Geo Perez is an LI based comedian and is one of the first comics I met out here when I started comedy. Months ago he told me he wanted to come in and talk about drugs, jail, and related shenanigans, but 30 minutes into the show I asked him what his guilty pleasure for the episode was gonna be and the guy hits me with Chess! That being said we talk about a lot of stuff in this episode....some of which I've listed in order below Burning food Cannabis edibles Getting glasses/braces Stand Up on Long Island NY CHESS! [34:16] Competitive games Trailer Park Boys & more chess!
James Raniolo (JimmytheGeek017 on Instagram) is a LI comedian and a huge Star Wars fan. Tune in to hear us talk about how he became a super fan and what it was like to be such a big nerd before being a nerd became all cool and main stream.
For the last GPP of 2020 my man Nigel Fullerton pulled up to talk about his guilty pleasure, Funko PopsFolks, I'm not gonna lie to ya...when I worked in retail I hated Funko Pops. The people, the quality of the figures, the "shelfwarmer" Pops of characters nobody wanted that my stores had DOZENS of at times...but in reality, as a toy collector myself, I was just projecting all the junk I don't like about my collecting onto another niche. If you don't know, Funko Pops are a line of figurines that have the license to make virtually every character, fictional or otherwise, that has ever existed....and I'm only kinda joking. Seriously, this episode proves Nigel's guilty pleasure is pop culture and just expressed thru Funko.  All the figures adhere to a bobblehead style of tiny squat body with a big ol head, so your Goku Pop won't look too silly for standing next to your Ren & Stimpy Pops.  Are they for me? No. Do they get a ton of people into toy collecting that otherwise might never have enjoyed the hobby? AbsotootlyThis episode is long as hell, and while I encourage y'all to listen to the whole thang, skip to these time stamps to actually hear about Funko Pops!00:18:0000:37:3401:17:1001:35:2501:53:25

Milestone episode, BABAYYYYYFirst time having a guest return, and first time doing a proper multi guest episode! Yes prank calling was a cool episode, but I don't count it, haters!Alley Walker and Nick Tardo would have been the returning guests to talk about their Gambling guilty pleasure, but Nick had to have his cousin Nicky Parlay hop on the pod in his place due to....idk, something embarrassing probablyAlley is a homie and LI stand up. Go follow her on the gram @Alleywalkercomic, and Nicky Parlay can be found on his cousins instagram @NickTardo whenever significant sporting events occur. Maurice Middough grabs a mic to discuss...well...it started off as a "Sex" episode, then became a "Sex/Love" episode....then we kinda just settled on Love cause it was what we were tralking about for 90% of the recording!Maurice and Brandon discuss the problematic nature of being someone that simply loves too easily. Be it platonic or romantic love, loving too quick can be a beautiful thing, but potentially leaves us open to all sorts of pain. Hear us dish on this brand spanking new episode of GPP
