What happens when you hand a podcast over to AI? Using Open AI's GPT3 text generator, we explore what's possible when you combine AI and the written word. AI has also been used to create our podcast graphics, music and hosts. Enjoy.

In this episode, we explore whether Open AI's GPT-3 neural network can write in a theatrical manner. We used GPT-3 to create the names of the characters (Stacey and Lazlo). Then we selected the first two lines. Using this exchange, we allowed the neural network to write a short play several times over. We (humans) chose our favourite but each one had its merits. We might yet create some of the variants down the line.We also asked GPT-3 to give it a name. And so THE LIFE AND TIMES OF VENDOR IGLOO was born.Stacey and Lazlo are a couple, but what happened that night at the hospital will change everything forever. Enjoy! All words are spoken by generated voices on Natural Readers. The intro and outro music is generated by Amper Music, the interludes are created by the lovely folk at AI Music. The images on the artwork are created in RunwayML using the AttnGAN model. As ever, we'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode. In this episode, we use Open AI's GPT-3 neural network to hold an interview with Ada Lovelace. What was the input? We started with questions for Ada, then let GTP3 answer them. A few questions were generated in the process too.The questions we created were phrased with the name Ada Lovelace included. For example: Ada Lovelace, thank you for joining us. How are you today?Small disclaimer: we haven't fact checked Ada's answers. So we're not sure if she had a french maid or a horse and carriage. But we like it!All words are spoken by generated voices on Natural Readers. The intro and outro music is generated by Amper Music, the interludes are created using FolkrnnThe images on the artwork are created in RunwayML using the AttnGAN model. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode. In this episode, we explore whether Open AI's GPT-3 neural network can be funny. That’s right we’re talking comedy. Literally. We gave it a canon of classic gags, then let it do its super-powered predictive work. A human curated the gags used in the performance. All words are spoken by generated voices on Natural Readers. The intro and outro music is generated by Amper Music, the interludes are created by AI Music. The images on the artwork are created in RunwayML using the AttnGAN model. Here’s a GPT-3 gag we didn’t use in this episode: I insisted my best friend took a holiday in the Caribbean this year. They agreed and booked a lovely room at the Secrets Silversands resort in St Lucia. Jamaica? Didn't fancy it. Not on their radar apparently. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode. AI Poetry

In this episode, we explore how Open AI's GPT-3 neural network can help us write poetry. We have three poems to share with you. The input for the first two poems, Dreadful Brightness and The Deep, was the final stanza of Ted Hughes' poem, The Thought-Fox:Till, with a sudden sharp hot stink of foxIt enters the dark hole of the head. The window is starless still; the clock ticks,The page is printed. This poem beautifully describes the arrival of creative inspiration. And it felt like a good place to start. The final poem, 1678, used She Walks In Beauty by Lord Byron as the input. To add further depth to the project, we used machine learning for the music, voices and art work. The poems are read by generated voices on Natural Readers. The intro and outro music is generated by Amper Music, the interludes are created using Folk-rnn - all tweaked by ourselves. The images on the artwork are created in RunwayML using the AttnGAN model. Here are the written versions of our poems, so you can read them fully. What you see is GPT-3 text, with a very light human touch. We like to call it human-AI collaboration.DREADFUL BRIGHTNESSI cannot shake away the dark. The stars are burnt to husks,All the fearful hoursLike lost words strung to death,Left there, gaped by memory.I still see that patient face,So come and let us go,Like a lover’s instinct,Where the savage windSmites a swarming crop,And the head is broken asunder.Let us go where sable suns are worn,With eyes that see and feel.Out of the blackness of the sky,Shimmers rainbow times,Kaleidoscope dreams,Like diamond suns. With a sharp and quick bell-shout,The days go by.The infernal clock keeps time,Its words are secret,But everything is clear. This second poem is pretty much untouched. When it came out of GPT-3 we were astonished.THE DEEPAt home under the deep,A mighty wind still blows,Of dancing angels and savage beasts.Against wild brute death,I sense the great laws of moor and lee,And dive upon the frozen sea.The great ocean standsIn mad arrogance,Naked and uncouth,Save a dim fin,Which glitters in his eye,Like a starry velvet shade.1678Walk with me, you and IIn the company of luminous soulsHeld under freckled swayFrom the soft river-bank with the pale lilies and the fairest geeseUnfair to shy away from complications of this sortOf characters and chambers, sly remarks and sheltered skiesIn the young, sun-beaming eveningWhere men beguile their mothers with dreams and sorceryFor something we have yet to find within ourselvesNo-one here says what I feelConscious in a realm of sensesThe great rebellion of love is upon usWe'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode.
