You have said 'Yes' too many times, or you've taken on a project that you shouldn't have.  You want to be able to then sit with that anger.  You want to be able to create a pause through the mindfulness, where you're feeling it in your body, and just allowing it to to be heard.  And then with some techniques, like breathing, you want to come to a point where you can reflect on what that anger really means.  Rather than lashing out at staff members, for example, I know I need to sit down and have a conversation and say 'I can't do this for you at this moment?' On this episode of When Harry Met Daphne we interviewed Dr. Catherine Uram. She is a conventional physician who realized that healing comes with awakening to your calling in life. She has an interesting philosophy to healing. Connect with Dr. Uram:  Website   |   Instagram  |   Facebook   Dr. Uram describes healing in her own specific way. "So what we know is that healing is not a cognitive process, right? So if we knew what was going to heal us what was going to make us feel better, we'd already feel better. Healing has got to come from somewhere deeper inside of us. Healing has got to come from beyond the rational thinking mind. And so when that comes up, we can feel it. We can embody it and we can enact it. And what that is, is its essence coming in line with our body and our minds and we can have that inner physical reality. This may sound very esoteric as I'm talking about it, but I've seen this work and people's physical healing, mental and emotional healing, and people just coming to terms with their sense of purpose in life. We could also delve into scientific studies and clinical cases to bolster this as well"Support the show
On this episode of When Harry Met Daphne we interview Ann Hince. Anne had a difficult childhood with a lot of trauma that she repressed until she got to adulthood. After becoming a mom of two boys, one day she got into an altercation with one of the mothers at her son's school and it changed her life. This was the impetus for her to deal with her trauma. She is now able to expand her awareness. Connect with Anne:  Website   |   FacebookAnn explains her release work like this: "That's the level of awareness. And throughout the whole process, my awareness expanded, so yes, I just call it generally my release work. But it started at this level, which is like the level of the emotions or the words. So yeah, I went home and and realized that it seemed like it was a good technique. But you know, as a software engineer, I have that kind of mind, I wanted to know that it wasn't just a fluke, that it actually worked. So then I worked it out, I had a cat, I had a 17 year old cat that we were told me to daily, say nine shots. And the first time I gave him a shot, my hand was just shaking so ridiculously much. I wasn't going to be able to do it every day. So I thought, Well, this was a good test case. So I actually tapped I use this technique EFT about my fear of hurting my cat about my handshaking about my memories around injections. And the next day, when I gave him a shot, my, the needle just slid right in my hand didn't shake at all. So it was just such a crazy shift, that I knew this technique was really powerful, deceptively so really. And so that's when I started working with it every day. So I would notice when I was emotional during the day, and then I would tap in. But I wanted more than that. So I wrote down every emotional memory I could think of for my life. And I tap through one each night for about an hour to an hour and a half each night. And I found my mind becoming quiets. And it was so nice."Support the show
On this episode of When Harry Met Daphne we interviewed Jennifer Peavey.  Her career started as an engineer, then industrial design, then an innovator. She created a process to use the moon cycle as a way to reflect and create. Connect with Jennifer:   Website   |   Facebook   |   Instagram  When asked, "what does reflection mean to you? " A broad definition is that idea of slowing down and listening. And so for me my structure, I actually created a time, and the twist that I did was actually look at nature and say 'How does nature put reflection and action together?' My specific metaphor was I looked at the moon phases and said as we have a the darkness of the moon with the new moon I would spend more time reflecting. Then as we get into the full moon as it would grow with light I would have more and more action, and then reverse back. So I allowed myself to have this cycle. I really was just using the moon as a timepiece on saying, this is when I'm going to do these things, because I can get distracted, I can end up in one place. And that's particularly the engineer side of me, or sometimes the creative side of me. I'll get really excited about something. And I'll just keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going. And not really stop and think, 'Is this where I want to be? Is this what I want to do?' And so for me, reflection was spending a moment and listening, I might ask myself questions. Originally, it was just trying to reconnect with my feelings. And part of that was the physical sensations of, 'Do I like the options before me? Are these things that I want to engage with?' And if there were some that were not okay, well, which ones do why? And then I would ask my staff the questions of why. And it would help me know what actions I should move forward with it would bring me joy."Support the show
