Subscriber-only episodeIn 1993, King developed his DJ skills chanting on various sound systems. He voiced a number of hits at various studios with several producers in Jamaica and gained a reputation as the youths’ DJ. His vocal style and delivery was similar to Buju Banton, whose gritty delivery over popular rhythms guaranteed a hit. An early example of his style can be found on ‘Cock Up And Ride’; the tune was produced by King Jammy’s son John John and was a dancehall smash.

In 1991, Curtis moved to Ocho Rios where he entered a local talent contest alongside DJ Jigsy King. Curtis won the contest as Best Singer and King was designated the winning DJ. Inspired by their victory Barry O’Hare, of Roof International, suggested they record at his studios, which resulted in the successful single, ‘Butterfly’. While with the Roof crew Curtis also recorded the haunting ‘Where Is The Love’ in combination with Stan Ryck. Support the show
Early Life and Career Debut Chuck Fenda, was born Leshorn Whitehead on June 15, in Brooklyn, New York. He always had a special love for music, making a hobby of impersonating some of his favourite entertainers as a youngster. It didn't take him long to decide to pursue his dream in the music business.   In 1995 -6, he frequently travelled between Jamaica and New York to hone his deejaying skills. Having met and being guided by some of the top producers and performers of that era, he was persuaded to return to Jamaica and in 1997 released his breakthrough single – “Jah It’s All About You” under the tutelage of King Jammy. Support the show
Born Paul Gayle in Farm Town in Discovery Bay in St Ann, Jamaica, Little Hero made his recording debut in 1992 on Courtney Cole of Roof International. He got success with this producer in 1995 with the song 'God Alone' and its remix with Merciless. After taking a break because of an accident, he came back in 2006 with 'Inna De Ghetto'.Support the show
Discovered by Philip "Fatis" Burrell, Turbulence (aka Sheldon Campbell) blends hip-hop and R&B influences into his version of reggae, which combines soulful vocals with DJing skills. Raised in Jamaica's Mannings Hill Road section, Turbulence released his debut single, "Keep It Going," in 1997 on the Sky Hi label before coming to the attention of Burrell, who then included his song "Word Wid It" on the 1999 Xterminator compilation The Herbalist. Turbulence's self-titled, full-length debut followed in early 2000.Support the show

He grew up in the countryside of the Saint Thomas Parish in the Southeast of Jamaica.At age 3 Kevin moved to Kingston Waterhouse with his grandmother where he went to kindergarten/basic school and after 3 years he moved back to Bath where he attended Bath Primary & Junior High School.Support the show

Born Bryden Becenta Craig Wilkins on April 12, 1975, he grew up in the Salisbury Plain area, close to Stony Hill in St. Andrew. He attended Almond Hill All Age, then Oberlin High, before graduating from St. Andrew Technical High School (S.T.A.T.H.S) in Kingston. Immediately after high school, he learned the electrician trade, and to support himself, even did odd jobs like painting houses.Support the show
