Hi folks! I've been meaning to do more bonus content for the while, so here's the first bonus episode! In this episode, myself and Jamie Perkins have a ramble about our latest gaming obsession, Star Wars Armada. We discuss Rebel admirals, builds, tournaments, and why we like playing Armada. Have a listen if you like the game, us, or just if you think spaceships are cool!
Welcome back and happy new year! I intended to get this episode out a wee while ago, but my laptop packed it in! Hey folks, I'm back episode TEN, can't believe we've done 10 of these already! This time I'm talking to Az Drummond of Lucky Duck Games about a wide variety of topics. We also discuss the Christmas miracle that is a board game producer getting a Kickstarter out EARLY.  I can particularly recommend this one if you like hearing Scottish and Northern Irish accents talking nicely to each other. Relevant links are here: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamepublisher/33626/lucky-duck-gameshttps://luckyduckgames.com/games/8-kingdom-rush-rift-in-timehttps://luckyduckgames.com/games/37-chronicles-of-crime-1400

Apologies for missing last week, my original interview fell through, unfortunately! This week I'm talking to Steve Cole and Paul Winter about Epic: Armageddon, Warmaster, Guild Ball, and how and why keeping dead games alive is a good idea. We also touch on chess clocks towards the end, and why they're good but far from perfect for every game. Final note, when we synced our schedules to see when we could record, turned out that this Thursday was the only night. Which was Bonfire Night in the UK, so everyone around me decided to set off fireworks. Some of those are now immortalised in this episode. I can only apologise. Relevant links: Warmaster: https://www.wm-revolution.com/Paul's Warmaster Podcast: https://www.facebook.com/Warmaster.Podacst/Epic UK: http://epic-uk.co.uk/wp/The Longshanks for the Guild Ball Community Project: https://www.longshanks.org/tales/Steve's Podcast, Singled Out: https://www.buzzsprout.com/57387
Clickbait titles are fun! This week I'm talking to Richard August (@RichAugust1) about why D&D isn't the be all and end all of RPGs, why you shouldn't just stop there, and how all fantasy is racist. Relevant Links we discuss are here: https://ohnomelody.itch.io/laikahttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/evilhat/thirsty-sword-lesbianshttps://jamesmendezhodes.com/blog/2019/1/13/orcs-britons-and-the-martial-race-myth-part-i-a-species-built-for-racial-terrorhttps://jamesmendezhodes.com/blog/2019/6/30/orcs-britons-and-the-martial-race-myth-part-ii-theyre-not-humanFor future conversation on racism in TTRPGs: @pocttrpgs
This episode, I'm interviewing David "DC" Carl, of Warmachine fame, about tabletop games and how they translate into digital spaces. In addition, we go on some rambles about playtesting, games reviews, and generally look at the advantages and disadvantages of online versions of games vs tabletop versions. Monster Train is here: https://www.themonstertrain.com/ DC's freelance company is here: https://www.facebook.com/ClockworkPhoenix IMPORTANT: I'm really quiet for the first five minutes of this episode before I realised I was on the wrong mic. Turn the sound down a wee tad around 5 minutes in!
Welcome back everyone, this week I'm talking to THE Jamie Perkins about the colour pie, faction identity, and why it's important. You'll notice this episode is a little shorter than normal, and that's because Jamie talks so fast we managed to cram the normal amount of content into 49 minutes.
Hey all! Episode 3 is an interview with Maisy Hatchard about the foibles of translating tabletop games, translations in general, and how it's nice to credit people for their work. Please note, we had to record the Skype call for this one, so the audio isn't as good as I would like (I'm really quiet for some reason) but I hope it's enjoyable nonetheless. If you enjoy the episode, consider backing me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AnAyeForGames
This episode is about the psychology of games, how games represent psychology within them, and how the way in which we interact with games is pure psychology.  With an Actual Doctor of Psychology! Please like, share, and subscribe, and if you think it's really good, consider becoming a Patreon backer: https://www.patreon.com/AnAyeForGamesEnjoy!
