In this episode, we discuss the practice of Redlining and Gentrification and how they negatively affect minority and low income communities. Redlining is a discriminatory practice that was used by Banks and our Federal Government to prevent Black Americans from accessing capital, building wealth, and escaping poverty. Gentrification is the practice of turning a low income area into a more affluent area by increasing housing costs, displacing low income residents, and injecting businesses and restaurants that cater to more affluent people.
