On this episode we discuss the pharmaceutical industry. It is one of the largest industries in America, and it becomes apparent when examining the power and capital within the industry. From lobbying politicians to giving doctors fancy getaways, Big Pharma has been thriving in America. Big Pharma has transitioned away from a sector within healthcare to becoming a very profitable business. We identify the changes that have taken place within the industry, how it became so, and what it means for the average Joe.
Today we talk about the vast injustices faced by indigenous American and Alaskan communities. Most recently, the Navajo nation has been impacted extraordinarily compared to the rest of the United States. This isn't an isolated event, as reported by the Center for Disease Control, Native American and Alaskan nations have been mistreated and poorly cared for within healthcare for decades to centuries.
Welcome! On this episode, we discuss the injustices taking place within the American healthcare system towards BIPOC and underprivileged communities . Some of the topics that we focus on include the history of health inequality, maternal health, and how some discrimination is embedded into our political and economic systems.
