Description

Hi there, my name's Angel and welcome to my podcast! I am a twenty something born and raised in the Philippines. I moved to the United States when I was nine and I have been here, sadly assimilating, ever since. The goal for this podcast is to have complete and shameless transparency about how I do not know what's going on, but I am very much ready to elevate and learn. I will be inviting very special voices in this podcast to share their thoughts, comments, & concerns about adulting and life as we know it. This podcast is the epitome of "oversharing but make it caring."I hope to live a life where I get to experience different versions of me. Each one better than the other. Each one excited to grow, be corrected, and learn! I am in no means an over achiever, but I do wish to be above average. *cringeee that was cheesy* ANYWAY, WE OUT HERE FOLKS!

In this episode of Above Average S3, I discuss getting to know our adult selves and accepting change in adulthood with Stephen Ling. Life has always been unpredictable, but there's something about being a twenty something that makes change so intimidating, overwhelming, but also worthwhile. Listen in as we reflect on this very exciting period we call being "twenty-somethings."
Hi Pals! In this weeks episode I'll be talking about ways I manage my anxiety and self esteem challenges to FINALLY, for ONCE, begin liking myself. I think we talk a lot about self love, but sometimes love is such an all encompassing term. Sometimes you can even love something but not like it. You know what I mean? I wanted to focus on liking myself because I personally think it's harder. You can't just choose to like yourself, unlike love (sometimes). There needs to be reasons to "like...
Hello! Welcome to another episode of our season about authenticity. In this episode, I wanted to bring the ying to my yang, the moon to my sun, Ian Lim! We just celebrated our 3rd year anniversary recently, and I hope that through this episode, I am able to share the amount of work and compromise that is needed when dating someone who is completely different than you, with their own flaws and struggles. Hope you enjoy!
Hello! Welcome back dear listeners. For the first episode of Season 3, I wanted to share some wisdom that has shaped me for the better. As I continue to grow and get to know myself in my 20s, I can seriously say that these quotes have been my guiding principles. I hope to be the most authentic version of me in every phase of my life, and I would not be able to do it without inspiration and wisdom from the universe. I hope you enjoy! As a reminder, and to set our intentions for Seas...

In this last episode of June, and with the heat of summer creeping in, I wanted to discuss my relationship with romanticizing travel and escapism. Have a wonderful day!
Hey Guys! For this week's episode, I explore the concept of introversion with a fellow introvert, Aldwin Pagulayan. What I learned from this conversation is that as much as introversion is part of our identity and important to acknowledge, it only makes up one layer of who we are. Listen in as Aldwin and I talk about our similarities, differences, and how we are growing as introverts in life.Helpful concepts!"Jung (1921) suggested the principal distinction between personalities is the source ...
Hey everyone! Welcome to my first episode for the month of June. On this episode, I discuss my, dare I say, traumatic experiences with grades and the K-12 American Education System. As I continue to solidify who I am and what I want in life, it has become crystal clear that our education system is not the vibe. I unfortunately don't go into education reform here as this is just a story telling episode of my personal experiences, but high five if you feel the same!
Happy Monday everyone! On this episode, I invited Andrea Chavez to share her two cents on everything revolving confidence. We dig deeper on what fuels her confidence, how she wants hopes to provide the same level of validation for others, the lows in the mids of the highs, and everything in between! This is such a great in depth discussion between two people that source their confidence differently, that values different things, and yet wish the same thing for the world. Hope you guys enjoy!
Happy Monday! Welcome to another "Below the Average" segment where I take on a personal topic with the same Above Average content but below the average podcast length. Hi Everyone! In this episode I bring my very special friend, Euna Kang, as we discuss our faith, spirituality, and religion as young adults. Euna and I find a lot of strength through our faith that has guided us in how we navigate our struggles, the evil in this world, and our personal growth. I learned so much through this exchange of perspective and am so thankful that she has set time out of her day to share her wisdom. I hope you guys enjoy! Here are some concepts we discussed:Faith - "Fai...
Happy Friday Everyone! Today on another "Below the Average" session, I wanted to talk about embarrassing moments. I feel like I've always lived a life of internal discomfort and I get emotionally overwhelmed with just about anything. I'm definitely getting better at that now but listen in to hear some of the more memorable as well as the trivial embarrassing moments I've had so far. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll talk to you guys next week!
In this episode I bring in my childhood friend, Fil-Am advocate, young professional, & creator of IG food blog @poquisquared, Austin Chavez! Listen in as we discuss the unrealistic expectations we had of adulthood growing up, how we are navigating the realities of young adulthood, and what we are learning and unlearning in the process. I find this topic important to discuss especially with the young millennials going through the transition from college to the working world. I am here...
Hi Guys! Welcome to my first attempt of the "Below the Average" segment. Where I share the same Above Average content but below the usual podcast length. Ideally the goal is to create shorter episodes to balance the super long ones I normally make. Today I share with you my thoughts on gossiping and cancel culture. I'm pretty nervous not gonna lie. I don't think I've ever been this expressive and truthful in a while. I think of myself as a "diplomat" which means I say things in ways that ensu...
Happy Monday and welcome to the first episode (Episode 11 overall) of Above Average Season 2!I brought back my guest from my very first episode, my brother, Leif (Biboy) Jomuad, to walk me through his relationship with toxic masculinity. In this episode I talked about a couple key points. As a person that still has a lot to learn, please try to use my episodes as a source of perspective not the only source of information. I hope this acts as a starting point for you to do your homework as we ...

Helloooo! Join me and Caryl as we discuss the differences, similarities, and gripes we have on the topic of body image between a millennial and a gen z! Growing up as the eldest in a culture that had unrealistic body standards, I was always so lost when it came to body Image. This discussion is necessary and so I hope you listen in! Also, I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Eat all the good food and drink water yall!
