Or… it was, right up until the end of the last school year, when, well… Surviving the apocalypse is hard enough to begin with. So is getting through high school in one piece. Trying to do both at the same time? Ugh.Murphy’s End is a weekly peek into the lives of the last remaining survivors as told through the morning announcements at the local high school. Because between the ongoing food shortage, the roaming packs of mutants, and that one demon who has been hanging out by the water fountain since last June, well, there’s always something important to announce.Some of the students are thriving in the new environment, leading field trips into the unexplored wilderness that used to be their small town. Some of the students are grudgingly coping as they’re forced into new roles… like doing the school’s morning announcements. And some of the students still haven’t figured out why the big homecoming game isn’t happening this year. It’s fine. It’s probably fine.Sigh… it’s going to be a long year.(Go Tomcats!)

It’s that time of year again. North Murphy High is gearing up for its long-awaited homecoming football game. There’s just one problem… due to the apocalypse, finding another team to play against has gotten a bit… well…Ahem.Anyway... GO TOMCATS!

The first debate team competition of the year takes place tonight. How better to weigh the pros and cons of decisions that could get you killed than to listen to a bunch of teenagers argue? Don’t worry, they plan to start out small. And remember, attendance is mandatory.

Sometimes the most kind-hearted among us cause the most trouble. And since our dear, sweet Bonnie won’t stop setting out food for the pets that were orphaned by the apocalypse, well… here we are. *sigh* I guess it could be worse. Oh no. Why did I just say that?

Happy Halloween North Murphy High. The Halloween dance will be starting at 7pm sharp, thanks to our lovely dance-planning-committee, but first we have a few announcements about the jack-o-lantern carving competition and the horror movie marathon and...wait. Um… does anyone else see that?

Good Morning North Murphy High, and thanks for giving up your Sunday to help us turn back the clocks for this pointless tradition that makes no sense and just wastes all our time. Devin… I blame you for this. 

Hopefully you enjoyed your unexpected long weekend as we were dealing with the fallout of daylight savings time and are ready to get back to work. We are looking for volunteers to help with the children who reappeared during Halloween. Just a warning, the children are a little bit...bitey.

Things are back to normal here at North Murphy High. Well, as normal as they ever get nowadays. This means that it’s the perfect time to address the whole issue of the demon who keeps hanging around the water fountain in the third-floor corridor, or, more to the point, the fact that the students won’t stop using that water fountain. Come on, guys. Seriously?

Hannah is taking over the morning announcements today while Sammy is out on the field trip investigating the source and cause of the fire. Thankfully, Sid and Scotty have figured out a way to get some baby monitors to work so we can stay on top of their progress throughout the day. Hopefully, they don’t run into anything too dangerous out there. 

Well… Hannah had the PTA Meeting scheduled for last night. It… didn’t go well.

It’s a snow day! The very first post-apocalyptic one at North Murphy High, and classes are officially cancelled. So… what are you all doing here?

Hannah is working on a secret project over at the elementary school that is getting more and more ominous the more we overhear.Is anyone else becoming… concerned?

Just because there aren’t any adults or actual teachers anymore, doesn’t mean you get to miss out on midterms. Which start today, by the way. I sure hope you’ve been paying attention!
