Mentoring and coaching are workplace developmental relationships that help empower individuals and sustain individual and collective growth. They are also critical in building the leaders of tomorrow while strengthening the foundation of the present team and organization. Mentoring and coaching is a learning experience that goes both ways. For mentees, they gain a role model and a teacher to help them develop not only the skills but also the attitude and values of their workplace. For coaches and mentors, they are able to give back to their organizations while gaining experience and insights that prepare them to helm new roles and shoulder different sets of responsibilities.
You may believe that your life is capped when you reach a certain age. That as you grow older, your options are limited and there is not much for you to do in your personal and professional life, like changing careers or studying or pursuing a new venture. We at Women Talk Today simply do not believe these to be true! You have what it takes to do anything no matter what age you are!
Relationships matter in the workplace, and none more important perhaps than the one you have with your manager. We all have a manager, and most of our days at work involves working and engaging with them. This relationship has a very important influence in our lives – from our mood, disposition, and daily performance at work to our professional growth and long-term career plans and goals.
Overcoming Challenges and Obstacles For many of us, challenges are a daily part of our reality. As women, we face obstacles and difficult situations in our personal lives, relationships, professions, and careers – there is no escaping them. We can experience relationships failing and ending, families falling apart, failing at school, losing jobs and careers. At one point or another, we will reach these crossroads that will push us out of our comfort zones and threaten our foundations and sense of self. I want to tell you not to be afraid of change amidst challenges. It is what allows us to learn, to grow, and to discover more about ourselves and what we are capable of, when you Allow Yourself to Be Just You!
Who Influences You? It Takes A Village…This is the start of a well-known adage, an adage that underscores how we are shaped by the people around us. A big part of who we are – how we think, how we act, our values, our attitudes, our prejudices, our biases, and our belief systems – have been and are being shaped by the influences we have had. In these series listen to some of the invaluable tips I have learnt and heard from others on  how they have shaped their lives and who have influenced them. I am sharing some of the lessons on how You Can Be Just You.

Winnie Mirriam Foundation (WMF) was established and registered in Kenya as an NGO in 2019, although prior to this, the founders could reach out to and serve the needy through benevolent activities including payment of School fees to bright but needy students in High School and Tertiary Colleges, Supply of Sanitary towels to less privileged girls in Primary and High Schools through their own resources, mentorship and career guidance to students and graduates as well as job placements, acts that led to birth of WMF as an organization. These voluntary activities attracted more people to participate and the vision translated to the establishment of Winnie Mirriam Foundation (WMF) to enable them carry out the activities and even more in a legal, coordinated and professional manner so as to reach more beneficiaries.WMF is growing and providing support to vulnerable youths, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), women, and less privileged youths in different parts of the country. These beneficiaries have been reached through various programs including education scholarships, education subsidies, provision of sanitary towels, SGBV Campaigns, students mentorship and career guidance, psychosocial support to pupils and students in all educational institutions, shelter, vocational training support, entrepreneurship training, initiation of businesses and income generating activities, and linkage to the job market through internships and attachments. The work of WMF is being made possible through resources mobilized from various institutional partners and donors, other charities, and individual donors who share in Winnie's dream vision.Contact Winnie https://wmfkenya.org/@Winniemirria@winniemirriamfoundation
