Welcome to Episode Twenty of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast. In this episode, Alastair and Euan change from their usual podcast style and instead have an episode that focuses on player contracts, incomings and outgoings. Due to the club having 10 current first team players out of contract at the end of the season, the episode is dominated by debate over certain individuals in relation to whether we would extend their deal or not. The 3 loanees: Cochrane, Woodburn & Moore are also assessed. Potential outgoings are briefly touched upon, with a few individuals clearly heading for the exit door. Whereas Hearts have already officially announced their first January transfer, an Australia that goes by the name of Nathaniel Atkinson. The boys provide a low down on him and give an insight on what he will hopefully bring to Tynecastle. Another player rumoured to be joining Hearts is Japanese striker Tsuyoshi Ogashiwa, like Atkinson the boys provide an (more brief) overview of what we might be getting should the deal materialise.  The episode finishes by having a look at the pre-contract options for Hearts across the Scottish Premiership with a few names standing out as potential options. The lack of rumours circulating within the media made name picking certain players in this section very difficult!Player contracts - 4:02 to 48:15Assessing the 3 loanees - 48:16 to 59:10Outgoings - 59:11 to 1:01:55Nathaniel Atkinson - 1:01:56 to 1:08:47Tsuyoshi Ogashiwa + other striker related chat - 1:08:48 to 1:17:36Other incomings -1:17:37 to the endAs always, we hope that you have enjoyed this episode and noticed a difference in using new mics (although I have covid so did sound quite blocked at times). In particular, some individual's stood out and there is a discussion around those players. They move onto the most recent result, a differing performance in contrast to Tuesday but the same result nonetheless, winning 1-0 at Tynecastle against Dunfermline. Individual quality set Hearts apart from the Pars, with Craig Gordon and Jamie Walker impressing in particular. The final segment of the episode focuses on the transfer business that was completed on deadline day, Monday. Hearts brought in two players and they are both briefly discussed; who they are, previous clubs, style of play and ultimately what they will bring to Heart of Midlothian football club.In every episode, there are other little caveats that are mentioned, such as Neilson's approach to youth and Joe Savage's impact on the club.As always we hope that you enjoy this episode. Hello and Welcome to Episode Eleven of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast. In this episode, Alastair and Euan start by dissecting and reviewing last Saturday's extremely disappointing defeat to Raith Rovers, where Hearts lost 3-2. In particular, they assess the teams performance in the defensive phase in order to get a better understanding as to why the team are leaking goals. Specifically, the role of Craig Halkett is scrutinised as he quite often escapes a lot of criticism in comparison to Berra and Popescu. We move on to talk about our manager Robbie Neilson, naturally after poor performances and results, the manager's future is talked about on social media and fan forum sites. We debate whether he is under pressure and whether he should be under pressure. We also discuss whether his apparent blind loyalty to certain players is hindering him, and whether the next 2 matches are must wins not just for the title push but also for his future? We end this topic by talking about the level of responsibility that the players have got to take. Are they letting him down? The next topic of discussion is the Raith game v2, this time we travel to Kirkcaldy on Tuesday evening (tonight when uploaded). We debate what changes Robbie Neilson has to make; tactically, formation and personnel. We also give our score predictions for this must-win fixture for Heart of Midlothian. The last main topic of this episode is the discussion of new number 9, Armand Gnanduillet (surname pronounced: Nan-Dwee-Leh). The signing only broke a couple of hours before recording this episode, but that was enough time to do an Austin MacPhee and scan through YouTube videos. We give our (very) initial thoughts on the big man and attempt to predict what he will bring to Hearts. Throughout the podcast we give our opinions on other areas of the team that are required to be improved upon before the deadline at 11pm on February the 1st. Another Joe Savage masterclass occurred during the middle of last week and we give our thoughts on Stephen Kingsley's contract extension to finish the episode. As always, we hope you enjoy this episode. If you could give us some feedback on your listening method of choice, that would be much appreciated (if applicable).Follow us on Twitter- @TalkinTynie so that you can participate in our frequent Hearts discussions, vote on our monthly polls (Player of the Month & Goal of the Month) and to stay on top of all news Heart of Midlothian related.
Welcome to Episode Ten of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast. In this episode, Alastair and Euan first sit down to discuss Celtic's controversial trip (holiday) to Dubai following backlash and criticism from supporters, the media, pundits and the government. They give their opinions on the comments made by both Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell. They then move on to reflect on a disappointing defeat at Dens Park a few weeks prior where Heart of Midlothian were beaten 3-1 by Dundee. However, they do turn their attention to the most recent match, where Hearts beat Alloa 3-1 to create a seven point gap at the top of the Championship. What looks like to be one of the best bits of business that Hearts have done in the recent years is the arrival of Joe Savage who officially took over as Sporting Director in early January and has had a very positive start, despite only being in the job a couple of weeks. The boys discuss a number of decisions that have been made by himself, the club and Robbie Neilson with specific focus on Michael Smith's new contract, the signing of Gary Mackay-Steven and the departure of Olly Lee. Other areas such as future transfer signings and the importance of tying Andy Irving, Josh Ginnelly and Stephen Kingsley are also highlighted in this episode. As always, feel free to give us an honest rating if applicable on your platform of choice as we always seek to improve our content.Follow us on Twitter - @TalkinTynie where you can participate in our Goal of the Month / Player of the Month polls, participate in debates and to make sure that you're updated with all things Heart of Midlothian. We hope you enjoy!
Welcome to Episode Nine of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast. In this episode, Alastair and Euan start by briefly discussing the most recent Hearts game, a 5-3 victory at home to Ayr United. They then move on to talk about the main topic, last Sunday's Scottish Cup final where Heart of Midlothian agonisingly lost to Glasgow Celtic on penalties after coming back from 2-0 down and then 3-2 down. They move through the game in a somewhat chronological order, branching out a different moments to discuss players in more detail such as Jamie Walker, Christophe Berra, Josh Ginnelly to name a few. After discussing the 90 minutes, extra time and penalties they move on to create a new feature of the podcast which is known as 'Release or Renew'. This feature will likely occur in three stages of the season; right at the start, approaching January and then in April / May.Currently, there are 9 first team players (excluding loanees) who's contracts are up on May 31st 2021. Alastair and Euan discussing all players individually, with the aim of determining whether they believe their contract should be renewed, or instead they should be released. Finally, they have a quick look at some potential betting angles for Sunday's encounter (Gamble Responsibly and 18+).We hope you enjoy. Come on the Famous!
Welcome to Episode 7 of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast. In this episode, Alastair and Euan sit down and discuss the wider issues the club has faced following the two recent losses, in particular the defeat against Alloa in the BetFred Cup on Saturday. They first discuss Robbie Neilson - his post match comments, his obsession with the 4231, how Hearts can improve their performances and debate his tactics. The discussion moves on to include Hearts chairwomen Ann Budge, who frequently splits opinion in the fan base. They aim to understand why there is a perceived lack of accountability within the club and debate a question poised to them:"Ann Budge has failed. Discuss"Their answers lead to a chat about the clubs recruitment, as they mention every single player (136) who have played for the club under Budge's regime. They try to understand why the recruitment has been / is so badly done. They touch on the areas that Hearts should be focusing on in the upcoming January transfer window, and also look ahead to the inevitable squad rebuild next summer. They include some potential new players that they would like see join the club, and also name those who they would like to see leave. The final main topic is the Hearts youth academy, that has a national reputation but does it not produce enough? Is there a clear pathway for youth players into the first team? Is Roger Arnott doing a good job? Have Hearts been too quick to sell / release youth players? All those questions are answered to finish episode 7.We hope you enjoy and feel free to give us some feedback on your chosen listening provider, if applicable. Finally, come and give us a follow on Twitter - @TalkinTynie for daily Hearts news.HHGH
