Others might think because thyroid cancer is highly curable, it’s a better cancer than others and doesn’t warrant the same amount of care or attention. Cancer is cancer, and we all deserve care and attention. Because of this false stereotype and narrative surrounding thyroid cancer, us, as thyroid cancer survivors and fighters, might have to step up our self-advocacy game to ensure we are getting the treatment we need and are being taken seriously.Follow along @fiftypercentcancer on Instagram...
It’s not hard to believe that so many of us think things like: “My cancer isn’t as bad as others, so I shouldn’t feel bad.” or “I had friends who died from worse, why should I get to live?” or “I don’t have cancer anymore, so I shouldn’t complain.” I’m here to tell you, to plead with you, to take that way of thinking and kick it to the curb! Put it in the little trash can inside your brain and throw it the HECK away.Support the Show.
