Today after a bit of a hiatus we come back with a head scratching tale. We will wander through what it is like to be a part of a vast utopia so idyllic, that you more than likely will be unable to accept it as a possibility. Well for every action, there is a reaction. What does it cost to create a utopia? Let's find out.
Today on a briefer episode of Spin A Yarn we read a letter from Vincent Van Gogh to his brother, Theo Van Gogh.
Today we are travelling back to Civil War America, recounting a tale about a man to be hung from a bridge after being captured by scouts of the Union army. A story that paints the two sides with a greyer hue than other depictions of this time in history. Emphasizing the humanity and lack thereof on both sides of the conflict. A harrowing story of an era of entropy in history.CW: Death, War, Violence
Today in Spin A Yarn we have The Masque Of The Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe.   A piece that shows a whole host of nobles that stowing away and throwing a party as they attempt to wait out the plague that sweeps the rest of the populace outside their doors. Scary in both its prose as well as its relevancy to current times.
Today in the inaugural episode of Spin A Yarn we have one of my personal favorite short stories: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison. A truly dystopian tale that highlights five humans trapped in the belly of a supercomputer that has wiped out all other life on the planet. It is here, that the supercomputer AM indefinitely tortures Gorrister, Benny, Ellen, Nimdok, and the narrator of the story, Ted.  A hyper-cautionary tale of the dangers of fast learning AI technology.CW: Body dysmorphia, violence, described sexual conduct
