This week's guest is entrepreneur, visionary, and tastemaker, Jay Lewis, who had the dream of recreating the ideal Aussie eatery in Southern California. His 20 years of experience across multiple industries propelled him to the forefront of his chosen ventures time and time again. Beginning with the design and apparel business, Jay created a successful brand with multiple retail locations and a strong wholesale presence in Australia’s Gold Coast. In 2009, Jay took his apparel expertise to the shores of Southern California, where he created a fashion collective that includes a women’s contemporary fashion brand and a firm specializing in immersing Australian brands into the US marketplace through PR, marketing, and distribution. With his Australian roots firmly grounded in U.S. soil, he saw an opportunity to create a gourmet coffee and organic food experience reminiscent of those from his hometown on the Gold Coast. In 2015, he opened Outpost Kitchen to rave reviews in Southern California, and now has a second location at South Coast Metro that offers an extended menu, dinner and cocktails.https://outpostkitchen.comVisit Locay on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/outpostkitchen/#hospitalitygurus #restaurant #hospitalitypodcast#restaurantpodcast#culinaryhouse #foodandwine #foodandbeverage #bar#cafe #brewery #winery#foodandwine #foodblogger #newpodcast#newandnoteworthy#hospitalityconsultant #hospitalityconsulting#hospitalityconsultants#hospitalityexperts #podcast #foodpodcast
Join us this week as we hear from Larissa Fuller, General Manager of Locay. The four sleek boutique properties that make up the LOCAY group stand out as unique accommodation concepts located in different neighborhoods surrounding Sydney, Australia. But only a year ago they were functioning as separate businesses, each surviving in their own right, but “missing out on their slice of the competitive accommodation market,” as LOCAY’s General Manager, Larissa Fuller puts it. It all started when Larissa came across an opportunity to reinvent an old, run-down lodge accommodation in Bondi. She decided to use her 10 years of experience in the travel industry and a diverse background in sales, leadership, design and marketing, and join forces with Business Development Director Peter Magiros to rebrand and redesign what today is known as The Baxley Bondi. After the success of The Baxley Bondi took off, Larissa and Peter sought out other partnerships and eventually aligned business values, operations, and product offering with The Jensen Potts Point, St. Marks Randwick and The Alison Randwick to form LOCAY. https://locay.com.auhttps://www.thebaxleybondi.comhttps://thejensenpottspoint.comhttps://www.thealisonrandwick.comhttps://www.stmarksrandwick.comVisit Locay on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/locay_au/#hospitalitygurus #restaurant #hospitalitypodcast #restaurantpodcast#culinaryhouse #foodandwine #foodandbeverage #bar #cafe #brewery #winery#foodandwine #foodblogger #newpodcast #newandnoteworthy#hospitalityconsultant #hospitalityconsulting #hospitalityconsultants#hospitalityexperts #podcast #foodpodcast
