Being a black elected official often feels like being under a magnifying glass 24/7, met with a sense of distrust and an expectation of failure. In celebration of Black History Month, please join me for an important, lighthearted conversation with Harold Pryor Jr., the first black State Attorney in Broward County, and Gordon Weekes, Broward's first black Public Defender as we talk about the pressure and high expectations placed on our roles, the "messiah complex", and the day to day balance that is race, inequality and the job as we work to bring lasting change to our criminal justice system and our communities at large.
