Vans are vehicles that generate revenue for drivers. Paul shares his thoughts on diesel vans being polluters and contributing to poor air quality and carbon emissions. Paul Kirby goes on to make a passionate pitch for all the benefits of moving to electric vans. Topics range from mental health benefits of driving electric vans over diesel to education. Vans are high mileage vehicles making fleets a quick win on the journey to 2035 when no new diesel and petrol vans will be sold.   

In this conversation, the IGTE team discusses the challenges and potential of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, where electric vehicles can both charge from and discharge to the grid with Claire Broido Johnson COO of Fermata Energy . She highlights difficulties in the interconnection process, concerns about impacting EV battery warranties, and the slow adoption by utilities. Despite the challenges, Claire remains optimistic about the future of V2G, envisioning a time when all chargers are bidirectional and EVs become a vital asset in decentralizing and decarbonizing the grid.

From building electric scooters at the age of twelve to being a member of a solar car racing team Damian has always been an extraordinary engineer.   Together with his team, the Solar Energy Racers at Buhler, he constantly works to design and improve the solar powered race car.
