Y'all I have fallen HARD off the podcast wagon! I have met several people lately that I would like to interview but first I had to finish editing this little Miss's episode to give her time to shine. I got all verklempt listening to her baby voice in the first half, and I know those of you who know her in real life will not be surprised by her answers :)Enjoy the last of the kids to get interviewed!

Welcome back! After an extended break for losing my mind due to getting a new job and the holidays, I am back and 2023 has some exciting things in the works for Kimmigration! The world has opened back up (at upload time, anyway) and people are able to immigrate again! This is the second out of three interviews with my kids documenting the kids experience of immigrating. I know a lot of people have asked how they handled it, so wonder no more! Rory is my middle child, and honestly the big...

Ohhhhh boy - you are in for something special. Well, I think he's special anyway (Or was it "special"? ). Kids on the pod! My biggest boy. He's definitely the one of few words :) I just happened to interview each of my kids back in 2020 after immigrating to NZ and then once again with similar questions and quite different answers when we immigrated back to the US in 2022. I loved hearing the baby voices and I hope you love hearing the story from a childs point of view. As alwa...
This episode is a rundown on how we prepared for the big move back for the months March - June. There's a lot of details around the planning, logistics, feelings, and emotions around these last few months of living in EnZed. From here out I'll be talking about life re-immigrating. Or is it re-emigrating? I hope you enjoy the podcast!

Two in a row!

Episode two is a carryon from where we left off, January/February 2022. Progress, stresses and worries about making important plans. Like getting a tattoo before I left. Spoiler - I did (eventually)! This is the last prerecorded episode. From here on this season will be recorded in real time.If you want to share your own immigration story - feel free to reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram, Its really fun to be interviewed! I promise :)Thanks for listening! I hope you enjoy it.
Can you even believe there's a season 2?! And it's coming to you from The US of A! That's right, the giant delay in releasing episodes is because the famn damily and I have moved back stateside for the foreseeable future and we want to share the experience with you. Some of it will be 8 months old recorded, and we will keep updating until we get to the present day. I hope to be able to interview some other immigrants while we're here to learn all about their experiences as well for future epi...

YOU GUYS! A New Episode! With a Michigander...umm...Michiganian......ummm friend from Michigan! Listen to us in all our midwest glory. From leaving the "D" to Germany and then back! We cover some fairly "political" stuff, but to me it needs to be said so I left it in.....I would LOVE some feedback on this. I hope you enjoy the podcast!

Today on the podcast I talked with an old CMU Alumni friend of mine, Bettie. She is originally a Chicagoan, but now lives in London. We talked about the places she has been over the past 20+ years since I've seen her and it was so great to hear her laugh. I think Bettie has the greatest laugh and I bet you do too. I hope you enjoy the podcast. Thanks for listening!

It truly IS a small world. Who would have thought all the way across the world, I would interview an American who moved from Raleigh and we have a friend in common! Marcus was so sweet and kind, I just loved talking to him about his immigration experience. He told me he was "a talker" before we started and boy was he! In the best way possible. lol. I sure do miss that kinda southern hospitality. I hope you enjoy it. I know I sure did!

Yay! Kids are back in school! Interview time with Lalicia. I met Lalicia fresh off the boat from South Africa, and she has flourished here in New Zealand. She is very adaptable to new situations and just has a sunny outlook on life, which probably helped her adjust once she got to New Zealand. We discuss starting over, changing plans, and being a foreigner...... Enjoy!

Vicky is an old buddy from South Africa who has done the immigration song and dance to New Zealand and to Australia. She is a lovely lady with an interesting "why" and "how" she has moved. I absolutely NEVER would have pictured her where she is today when I met her 150 years ago. I hope you enjoy her fascinating story of immigration. Thanks for listening!

You asked for it - you got it. Finally an interview with the hubs. Today's interviewee is none other than my husband Berno. My partner in crime, my donkey jockey holding the carrot out in front of me (being the donkey) to keep me moving forward. We recorded late at night while trying to Christmas prep, after a few wines. I hope you enjoy the podcast!

Todays episode is with my friend Monique. She's yet another South African, but with a TWIST! She's immigrated to Canada and now is inhabiting New Zealand with her family. We compare and contrast the differences and similarities between all three countries. I hope you enjoy listening to her as much as I enjoyed recording with her. Enjoy the Podcast!

Today's interview is with Fan, who has been in NZ for a while after a temporary adventure abroad fit right into her lifestyle. Fan was nice enough to volunteer her time in the middle of moving house. She has a great sense of humour about life in NZ, and taught me so much about her experience immigrating and about life in China compared with life in NZ. Enjoy the interview with Fan,

Natalie was a rare gem to answer my call for immigrants willing to be interviewed. She didn't know me or the podcast, but she was such a joy to interview. She and her family have been through it! I enjoyed learning how she can see the silver linings through the clouds. I hope you do too.

Today's podcast is with my Americano friend Kathy. Kathy and I are in an improv comedy troupe together (check out the Honest Liars Improv) and we just clicked since the day we met. She's a hilarious, smart, and very talented woman who I'm so grateful to see every Monday night. Also - as an added bonus we also had a special guest star - Fee - chiming in. I hope you enjoy this conversation with Kathy, Fee and I. Thanks for listening.

Today I talked to my friend Yuko. Yuko is originally from Japan. She is married to a New Zealander, had 3 kids, and never listens to podcasts. She is one of the brightest stars in the universe, always has a smile on her face and likely thinks I'm crazy (she's not wrong). Enjoy the podcast!
