In this episode and the season 1 finale, I welcome Animal Communicator Laura Elaine from Wild Talks. Laura takes us on a journey of when she first discovered her natural gift of being able to communicate with animals and how we can all learn from animals to guide us. How can I ease my anxiety and depression? A question many of us find ourselves pondering when we have reached a place where we cannot seem to get relief. Dr Bode fell in love with the area and continued to work at the Broken Hill Hospital as a registrar for several years in the Emergency, paediatrics and ICU / CCU departments and with the Royal Australian Flying Doctors Service. Returning to Adelaide, Dr Bode benefited from working in several practices, gaining invaluable experience and cementing his commitment to general practice.  In the 1990s, Dr Bode began doing a lot of work in the area of cancer and palliative care. A program on Euthanasia, featuring one of his patients, made him aware of an underlying desire to provide patients access to information and treatments, otherwise unavailable to them.He was introduced to Nutritional and Environmental Medicine in 1997 and this change in direction enabled him to further increase his repertoire of tools, to aid in the treatment of a variety of complex conditions. Dr Bode became actively involved with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine working on the board, in education and on the fellowship committees. Dr Bode has also been actively involved with Autism SA, Cancer Care Centre and in training with ‘Bio balance’, a group whose approaches aim to improve the health of people with various neuropsychiatric ailments including autism, depression and schizophrenia. Dr Bode has lectured for ACNEM, Mindd, Cancer Care Centre, Chronic fatigue association and Autism SA. He has worked as a Director, an Integrative General Practitioner in the Adelaide Hills location of Stirling for many years. Loss and grief are part of our human experience of living, yet how can we make sense of death when we feel so much sorrow? How can we keep hope that the grief will ever subside? So impossible that the lowest moments of my life almost ended my life. Doctor after doctor, diagnosis after diagnosis, pill after pill, poor decision after poor decision — how was I ever going to survive such a toxic cycle? Well, I did. And now I’m here.It took me a long time to understand why; it took me even longer to understand what. But once I did, everything started to come to life. I was so sensitive to everything, and it wasn't until I discovered I am what is called an “intuitive empath” that I was able to turn my life around and help others. Now, I'm living in a lighter place with such depth and self-awareness.

I was living with high functioning depression,  anxiety disorder and manic moods. For many years, I worked with specialists and therapists to work through my trauma. Through this process, I experienced bouts of lows and highs as I uncovered truths about my past that were hard to confront. Just when I thought I had healed and that the several years of uncovering my mental health triggers was a thing of the past, things shifted — and life kicked me in the face. Pretty hard!Some years ago, you would have found me in a complete state of anxiety and stress. I was going a million miles an hour, relying on sedatives to calm the daily panic attacks. I was hiding from facing the reality of my illness that was anxiety disorder. The people around me kept telling me I was burning the candle at both ends — I didn't listen. I could feel my physical body disconnecting and was entirely out of touch with my intuition and spirituality. I was living with an overwhelming sense of panic. I was treating the most crucial part of my body poorly — my brain and soul. I was avoiding my pain, always planning for the future; nothing was about being in the moment; nothing was about learning to go where life flowed. I told myself this was how people became successful, by going hard. Shortly after, I became bedridden with chronic fatigue syndrome and was once again riddled with an anxiety disorder. After several months of investing time and finances in seeking support from the western medical world, I had discovered no help or answers. I almost lost all hope. It was then that I knew my life had to change; it was time to take action; so I did. Through a combination of remarkable tools to heal, I found healing in all the right places and was able to gradually overcome my illness. While there is no one size fits all formula, a life free of pain is possible for absolutely anybody.
