I had so much fun recording this episode with my friend Marissa Rehder!Marissa is a former teacher who found a love for supporting other teachers throughout her own process of self discovery. On the verge of burnout and being ready to leave the profession, it was then that she decided that there had to be a way to overcome the intense feelings and stress being a teacher was creating. Throughout the next two years, she was determined to create a "Happy Life Framework" that would benefit more women than just herself. It was throughout this journey that The Self Care Haven was developed, which is an online community where women can come for support and personal development. Marissa has also started coaching women on how to create the life they have always dreamed of through the process of discovering the best version of themselves. In this episode we talk about:-How self care played a role in Marissa's  journey to self discovery. -What self care actually is (and no it's not just massages and pedicures.)-How to be your own health advocate & why it's so important. You can learn more about Marissa & Connect with her using her links below!Website: www.MarissaRehder.comInstagram: @marissa.rehder                         @theselfcarehaven

After a conversation I had last night with a friend, I felt inspired to talk about Mindfulness with you. Mindfulness has the ability to decrease stress, anxiety, overwhelm and so much more...but we often over complicate it. The thing is, mindfulness can be really simple. There are things you can implement into your life, starting today, that will not add any more to your already "full" to-do list. While these exercises are simple, they're not easy. They require intention and consistency in order to receive the benefits. But if you're open to trying them, I think you'll be surprised at how powerful they can be! In today's episode I share 8 of my favorite mindfulness exercises that you can start implementing today to reduce stress & feel better! If you're interested in learning more about mindfulness and how you can integrate it into you life, I invite you to check out my 21-Day Mindfulness Program (link below.)https://www.jordanwavra.com/21-day-mindfulness-challenge
While the concept of portion control can be helpful for some, for others it is daunting and confusing. You’ll be happy to know that it really doesn’t have to be complicated. When we focus more on the quality of the food we eat, the portion control part usually takes care of itself.  We don’t usually overdo it on the broccoli and kale, right? Many times, the issue is that our body isn’t getting the nutrients it needs, so when we eat a meal (or snack) that doesn’t fulfill our needs on a cellular level, our body stays hungry, a signal that it needs more nutrition.  Unfortunately, we usually grab more “fillers,” the foods higher in carbs and calories. We are constantly bombarded with options for processed, packaged, low-nutrient foods everywhere we go. They’re quick, easy and convenient.  Unfortunately, they leave us wanting and craving more while leaving our bodies undernourished regardless of how much of it we eat. Have you ever had the feeling of being full while at the same time you’re still feeling hungry?  It’s usually because your stomach is full,  but the food you consumed isn’t providing your body the nutrients it needs to function optimally. In today's episode I chat about how we can approach portion control and eating in a mindful and intuitive way, leaving us feeling more satiated and energized throughout the day. Today I have a soulful conversation with my friend Morgan Ruff. Morgan Ruff works with wild women and wild souls who somehow got lost in the woods. She guides them back to their intuition so that they can trust themselves and stand more clearly in their own center. By digging into themselves, women find the freedom to live a life more authentically aligned with their wildest nature and truest dreams.Morgan is a momma of 2 wild girls and lives in Mount Vernon, Washington where she spends her days working for a tribal community facilitating endangered species recovery for our beloved pacific northwest salmon and killer whales. Through her life she’s been a kayak guide in Alaska, a boat captain, naturalist, elite level cyclist, and has climbed the summit to some of the notable peaks in the area. Currently she is navigating homeschooling, work, and a coaching business, all of which are guided by her core desired feelings. I'm back with a solo episode for you today!I'm diving into energy healing and opening up about a side of my holistic work that I don't talk about as often. When clients first hear that I offer Pranic Healing, they're usually surprised and super curious!
