Part 2: My guest Nicole Kennedy is a Pilates Instructor and small business owner.  After a 6-year career with the San Francisco Ballet, she founded "Empowered Body Pilates" in 2016, starting out as a one-man-band. Today, Nicole works with a team of 4 instructors and is currently mentoring 4 aspiring instructors through the industry's most rigorous Pilates education program. When she's not in the studio she spends time with her husband and 10 month old son, and is preparing for her 40th birthday goal: a century cycling ride.Nicole and I talk about the evolution from always wanting "success" and perfection to embracing the ability to make meaningful contributions in the lives of those around you.We also explore the power of genuine community and creating a sense of belonging. She is professor emerita of sexuality, and marriage & family therapy and serves on the board of The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. As a preeminent voice on purity culture and Hebrew Mystic Sexuality, Dr. Sellers is frequently featured on podcasts, TV, documentaries, articles and radio, including Spirituality & Health magazine, and NPR’s All Things Considered. In this episode, Dr. Sellers and I review the history of sex education in the US and its effects on establishing healthy attachment in relationships.
