Have you ever felt trapped in your life? Like... you know you should change, but you just can’t?  In this episode I share with how our brains in a bid for survival amplify the fear of change, often leading to stagnation. If you are an immigrant struggling with cultural disconnect and language barriers I want to take you on a journey of self discovery.  By revisiting our past and acknowledging our growth we can shatter these barriers. You and I, as immigrants we have already mastered the art of adaptation. Let’s leverage this strength, redefine our relationship with fear, embrace change and celebrate our growth. Here is the link to your video self coaching exercize: https://youtu.be/ioO1rvXbPkATo join our Facebook Group "Pogaduchy na Emigracji" click here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1106767306991881/SIGN UP FOR FREE COURSE ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD HANGING OUT WITH AMERICANS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY IMMIGRANT IN THE GROUP: https://shorturl.at/chyM2Need my help? Have you ever considered how the stress of your immigrant journey has impacted your health?  Have you ever thought about the connection between your physical health and emotional well being?  This episode with Anna Lakomy will reveal some astonishing insights; she shares her battle with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome ( PCOS) and how it transformed her perspective on health, career, and self-worth. Anna's journey is more than a story about a health condition. It's a tale of determination and self-discovery, of the transformative power of adversity. We talk about her fight against her physical symptoms and the traditional medical system, and how this struggle led her to an unexpected revelation about her career success and personal worth. The conversation takes a deeper turn as we explore the struggle to balance masculine and feminine energy. We talk about societal pressures, inherited survival instincts and the power of self-compassion. We share insights on healing the inner child and fostering self-love. Consider asking yourself these questions:What relationship do I have with myself? Am I being a good friend to myself or do I keep on criticizing myself? If so why? Am I feeling safe? What is creating a sense of safety for me? Am I safe within me right now? What do I need right now?To join our Facebook Group "Pogaduchy na Emigracji" click here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1106767306991881/SIGN UP FOR FREE COURSE ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD HANGING OUT WITH AMERICANS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY IMMIGRANT IN THE GROUP: https://shorturl.at/chyM2Need my help? Are you an immigrant going through a divorce? Maybe you are already divorced but emotionally and mentally you are still struggling? When a relationship ends, healing can take time. There are things you can do to get through this difficult adjustment. Get some wisdom and learn the tools to manage stress during separation and divorce. SUMMARY:Get a journal. Here are the questions I suggest you ask yourself when analyzing why you feel the way you feel: What am I thinking about this?;  What am I feeling when I am thinking that?;  What do I do when I feel that feeling? The Line of Life:  On a clean piece of paper draw a horizontal line.On the left side mark at the beginning of the line write your birthday. On the right side at the end of the line write how long you would like to live.Mark today, your wedding day and your divorce date. Color the space between these two dates that will represent your marriage. Answer these questions: How many years have you lived before you became a wife or a  husband?; How many years are left after the divorce is final? ; How do you want to spend the remaining years? What do you want to do? Who do you want to become? What are the feelings you would like to experience on a daily basis? 3.  Examine your thoughts about your spouse. Ask these questions: What do you think of him or her?; How do you feel when you think that?; What do you do when you feel that? How do I want to feel when I see him? ( Keep in mind if you feel anger, you are the one suffering, not him.)  If feeling angry examine: Why are you angry? What did he or she do? What do you think he or she should’ve done instead? What wasn't fair? How did he or she disappoint you? What did you make it mean about yourself? How are you angry at yourself? How are you disappointed in yourself? 4. When ready make a list of all the moments you are grateful for that have happened during your marriage. 5. Write down a list of all of the positive character traits you have developed as a result of the difficulties you faced in your marriage.6. Answer these questions about divorce itself: What am I making it mean about me?; What am I making it mean about us as a married couple that is about to be divorced?; What am I making it mean about my life overall?; What am I the most afraid of?; What will I do if that happens?7. Answer these questions about other people: What are you assuming that other people are thinking about you as you are going through a divorce?; How are they judging you?; What do you think? 8. Possible thoughts to think when creating acceptance and compassion towards your spouse: It didn’t work out but he was trying his best. I can be grateful for that.  It’s hard for him too, I don’t have to make it harder by being mean.  We had a lot of great times, I can always be grateful for that. 9. Possible thoughts to think about yourself to create a sense of self acceptance and self compassion as you are going through this: This is hard but I am trying my best. Sometimes I will have a good day and sometimes I won’t, that’s okay. When you think about yourself and your life, do you feel empowered or sad? Do you feel like you can face whatever it is life throws at you, or are you fearful of what could go wrong? Life is 50/50. Half of it is great and half is terrible. If your brain automatically focuses on the negative, it’s possible you have a story from your past that is influencing this. In this episode I would like to invite you explore it with me. I walk you through a process of self examination. If you decide to embark on this journey, make sure to make a deal with yourself to stop exploring when your mind needs a break. Walk away from it for a while, but come back when you are ready. Keep on answering the questions I share with you in this episode:VICTIM:When was I in deep emotional pain in my life? What hit me hard? Who did it? Why?Whom am I blaming for this?Where am I refusing to take responsibility?Am I trying to make others feel guilty and responsible for my problems?  Am I playing a martyr here? Have I been putting myself in harm’s way to make myself vulnerable so that others elicit sympathy and support me?What is missing in my life? How much time do I spend thinking about it?Where am I looking for sympathy? How am I dodging responsibility?  Am I holding grudges?Victims connect with victimized, who in my life is also in a victim mentality? Is my story really true? Am I exaggerating it?Am I really fighting demons or am I paying consequences of my actions?Next you will want to Look for the meaning.  What was that for? Why did it happen like this? What do I need right now? What would I need to hear to heal and move on?VICTOR:Who is it?How is this part of you strong? How did you work through this problem? What skills did you have to develop to improve your position? What skills can you keep on developing? What did he or she learn? To join our Facebook Group "Pogaduchy na Emigracji" click here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1106767306991881/SIGN UP FOR FREE COURSE ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD HANGING OUT WITH AMERICANS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY IMMIGRANT IN THE GROUP: https://shorturl.at/chyM2Need my help? What to do when your heart is breaking into a million pieces because once again you are leaving your country of origin and you don’t know when you will be coming back?During my last trip to Poland I had a chance to experience this familiar heartbreak once again, but this time I put my coaching tools to good use. In this episode I teach you how to rise above that difficult feeling, analyze it and manage it with the higher part of your brain. So instead of suppressing the unexplained moments of sudden sadness, tears, tight throat and/ or anxiety etc, you recognize it and redirect your brain towards gratitude. Do you feel guilty about your life choices or about something that happened in the past? As humans we don't walk on water.  We are bound to do things we feel guilty about. Yet guilt is not really a useful emotion... It's not like excitement, motivation or joy. Guilt not only does not feel good, it often makes us do things we later judge ourselves for. Eating that extra piece of pizza, having that extra beer or wine, watching TV instead of cleaning up the house, not calling a friend you think you've hurt… Even if you don't think about it all the time, if you did something you still judge yourself very heavily for, that will influence your sense of self confidence and self worth. In this episode I share with you the basics. Where guilt comes from, why are you feeling it in the first place... and what to do to move through it. Need help figuring out how to move past your feelings of guilt? I can help you.  You can schedule a complimentary consultation with me on my site. Here is the link: https://lifecoachforimmigrants.com/To join our Facebook Group "Pogaduchy na Emigracji" click here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1106767306991881/SIGN UP FOR FREE COURSE ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD HANGING OUT WITH AMERICANS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY IMMIGRANT IN THE GROUP: https://shorturl.at/chyM2Need my help? How do you feel when you walk into a room full of strangers and you start talking to them? Are you comfortable or really nervous? What's happening in your head?Do you feel worthy enough? Smart enough? Or do you question even your belonging in that room. What you think about yourself matters and today I want to invite you to explore your thoughts about yourself as an immigrant. Few great questions to ask yourself:Who are you? What do you think about yourself as an immigrant? What do you want to think about your roots?Whom were your ancestors? What can you be proud of? What can you use as a building block for your identity?  Thoughts that will help you stimulate the feeling of belonging: I belong anywhere I choose to. I love being ..... (your nationality) I am proud of my culture. I love my  ...... ( your nationality )  culture and I am happy to share it with others who might not know much about it. How others react to me means nothing about who I am, but it means a lot about them. My ........ ( your nationality )  roots will support me till the end of my life, no matter where I live. I am so grateful for my ........ ( your nationality)  foundation.  If you think you need my help  go to www.lifecoachforimmigrants.com Click work with me and fill out a form to schedule a free consultation. Let’s talk about the toughest part of your life journey. If you are a first generation immigrant you had to make it work in the country you might have been completely unfamiliar with. Who did you have to become to make it happen?Who was that person that kept on showing up everyday, scared, unsure of how they will handle their day? What was she or he thinking? Was it:Oh my god I don’t know what I am doing, but I will figure it out. That person  was scared and determined at the same time to make things work no matter what. You might be still in that mode today or you might have relaxed and fallen into a more comfortable routine. I want to invite you to honor your hero and to call her or him back. You need that strength and courage if you want to keep on improving and changing your life for the better. The inner hero is so helpful where it comes to creating that dream life you have moved here for. Here are the questions I have asked you in this episode:What were the toughest situations you have faced as an immigrant? What were the feelings that  you most often felt in the toughest moments, the toughest times? What did you do to survive each situation? What were the qualities you had to find within yourself to survive it? If you could go back in time and say a few words to yourself back then, when it was so difficult, what would it be? What would you say? What are the 3 challenges you are facing right now?If your inner hero was to address it, what would she or he do?To contact me send an email to: coach@lifecoachforimmigrants.com To book a free consultation with me go to www.lifecoachforimmigrants.com To join our Facebook Group "Pogaduchy na Emigracji" click here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1106767306991881/SIGN UP FOR FREE COURSE ON HOW TO FEEL GOOD HANGING OUT WITH AMERICANS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY IMMIGRANT IN THE GROUP: https://shorturl.at/chyM2Need my help? Hi everyone,I am excited to share with you the first interview in 2022. I had a chance to talk with Finnish-American artist and designer Karoliina Vella. Karoliina and I met on a plane from Amsterdam to Atlanta. We talked for hours.
