You will start to see new and beautiful angles in your life that you had never seen before.  Enter your seasons with your eyes and arms wide open! We have all experienced being angry. Angry at ourselves, angry with other people, or angry at a situation. Are you good at controlling and expressing your anger in a healthy way?  Anger is an emotion that needs to be expressed in a collected and careful way. Know this - getting angry does not mean you are a bad person. Nor does it mean you are alone. Anger emotions can make you feel isolated from people.  Expressing any type of emotion can be one of the most difficult things in life! Recognizing areas of personal weakness is the first step to being able to grow and mature. If an area for you is the anger emotion, we encourage you to press into strengthening this by focusing on a healthy practice.  Reach out to us in our Free Facebook community  for more focused conversations. We all have “shoulds” in our lives. Maybe we should work somewhere else, separate ourselves from a relationship, or feel this way about someone. Maybe we should make more focused goals, travel more, or slow down.  When we dwell on what we should be doing, rather than what we are actually doing, our consciousness gives personal negative feedback. Being hard on yourself means you are judging the person you have become.  ‘Shoulds’ and perfectionism go hand in hand. Comparing your situation to a different one will be the root of evil. Let your ‘shoulds’ inspire you rather than tear you down! In this episode, we talk with our dearest teacher B. Naga Kumar of Mysore, India about Ayurveda. Kumar shares with us his own story about growing up in India and studying Ayurveda under his grandfather, who he mentored with in the younger years of his life.  Kumar’s background focuses on the non-physical, energetic part of humans. In the second half of the interview, Kumar talks about the 5 elements in Ayurveda: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Since we ran short on time, we decided to do a part two with Kumar that will air in October. In that episode, we will focus more on defining and understanding the doshas.  You can find Kumar at: Instagram: @mumukshaindiaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/mumukshaindia   ∙ Visit us at www.pointsofillumination.com for our upcoming courses and in-person retreats ∙ Join our Free Facebook community “POI Support Circle” for conversations, questions, and comments on the podcast ∙ Follow us on Instagram @pointsofillumination for the latest news! ∙ You can also find our podcast and more educational content on our YouTube Channel.  Make sure to hit SUBSCRIBE so you don’t miss out on any of our weekly episodes. There are a lot of emotions that go into relationships, romantic and also friendly. Join us this week talking about our experiences with romantic relationships. How we process emotions from experiences we are given. Knowing and processing our natural emotional habits will help us understand the way we react to different people or attitudes.  We also talk about what it looks like to be a friend to someone who is internally processing their emotions. Loving a friend from afar can be extremely difficult, so to successfully do this, grace and patience is necessary.   If you are on any online dating application or processing your moons, we would love to hear your experiences on our Facebook group called “POI Support Circle.” Be sure to check this out and hopefully find encouragement and support!    ∙ Visit us at www.pointsofillumination.com for our upcoming courses and in-person retreats ∙ Join our Free Facebook community “POI Support Circle” for conversations, questions, and comments on the podcast ∙ Follow us on Instagram @pointsofillumination for the latest news! ∙ You can also find our podcast and more educational content on our YouTube Channel.  Make sure to hit SUBSCRIBE so you don’t miss out on any of our weekly episodes. This week, Courtney and Laura talk about how they first met in India! A place where both traveled individually, multiple times for transformation and growth. See how this special place fostered this friendship and relationship.  When people have the same goals, being able to connect and relate becomes second nature. This relationship was built on having the same goals in life and with personal growth. Being surrounded by people who push you to be better and challenge you is something worth finding! This week’s podcast is special! We are together and have a video podcast for you. We are talking about working with our inner child’s needs. Our upbringing greatly impacts our subconscious because as children, we are all at the most vulnerable place in our lives - constantly being shaped and edged.  Inner child work - the idea that all of the ages of our childhood are still in us and any of the needs that were unmet in those ages, still live within us. The intention with inner child work is to go back to those stages of life and see where healing is required to nurture and fill that void. Courtney goes into her own recent inner child work around feeling abandoned as a child.  It is important to be able to recognize what we lacked during our early childhood stages. Whether we know it or not, this shapes us into the people we currently are. Noticing how you react to different people and situations highlights the way you grew up. We hope you learn something new about yourself this week and are able to meditate on your inner child! Remember the last disagreement you had. Maybe it was with a family member, co-worker, neighbor, or companion. How did you feel? What words did you use? How long did it affect you?  This week, we discuss how to approach conflict. Our world is filled with conflict! There is nothing more frustrating and disheartening than being in conflict with someone. This impacts the way we see the world, other people, and even ourselves.  It is our second nature to always try to be right, but there can be negative consequences when we handle disagreements in a poor way. Conflict is inevitable, but having the right mindset and tools to overcome it will be a game-changer! This week’s episode is all about how our nervous system impacts our well-being! How being surrounded by people will affect us, even when we do not see it. Absorbing other people’s energies makes us susceptible to change personally. Self-protection is done subtly and takes work. We all know people who make us feel charged or worn out. At home, work, or in public, protecting your energy will impact your character. Being conscious of our nervous system and the situations we are put in each day will help us understand how to protect our energy. We challenge you to notice how you feel after you leave group settings or even personal time. We feed from other people and this energy can either be positive or negative.
