This week I chat to Stephen O’Donoghue who who was part of my team on an expedition to Machu Picchu and Choquequirao in 2019. I found Stephen a really easy guy to get along with when travelling and we even developed a bit of a bromance on our trip together. I asked him to come on the podcast as I find his story truly inspiring and motivating. Stephen got into trekking when him and his mate decided they wanted to do something different for their 40th birthdays and climbed Kilimanjaro back in 2006. I can relate to that as I would much rather go climb a big mountain then have another party and another hangover to celebrate my 40th in 2 years time. After summiting Kilimanjaro, Stephen caught the hiking bug and has gone on an expedition every year since then. We discuss his high and low points of all his trips and he shares his top tips for anyone thinking of getting into hiking.
