Hi! Welcome back to another episode! Today,  I talk to Casey from Down to Earth Wellness about placenta encapsulation! Casey has been a doula for many years, she is also the chair of the Wisconsin Walworth County Breastfeeding Coalition, a massage therapist and a placenta specialist which means she puts peoples placentas into pill form for the birthing person to take after their baby is born.Casey talks about the benefits and why you might consider doing this, the process of getting it into pill form and reasons that someone should not encapsulate their placenta. If you are not quite ready to hear about placenta services … I highly recommend you listen to the last 10 minutes of the episode when Casey shares advice for people who are pregnant or thinking of starting a family. She shares some incredible advice from her years as a doula.  You can skip ahead to 42 minutes 40 seconds to hear what she shares!I would love to know what you learn from this episode.  After you listen, I would love if you would head over to instagram to DM me @BirthwithKari to DM me or email Birth@KariGierach.com and let me know what you learn!  If you have encapsulated your placenta I would love to hear the benefits you found from it…. Welcome to the birth with Kari podcast - this is the podcast all about birth! I’m your host, Kari!  I am a labor & delivery nurse, birth photographer, wife, mother of two very energetic kids and believer that every birth is beautiful in its own way.  This podcast is full of birth stories, conversations with birth workers and information I've learned over the past 15 years in the birth world. Because we are all unique and have different preferences, there is not one perfect birth for everyone.  Home birth is the best choice for some people while others prefer an epidural at the hospital.  Some people make an informed decision to have a planned c-section for their first baby and others choose to free birth at home!  Through this podcast, we will explore and discuss all different aspects of birth to hear about different birthing experiences and learn from each other. Birth is full of magic and it's my passion to help you find ways to bring that sacred magic into your own birth - no matter how your baby comes.  Birth is unpredictable, but I know that your birth experience can be exceptional, even if things don't go according to plans. This podcast is a safe place where all are welcome.  You will hear me use the term “birthing person” rather than terms like “mama, female or pregnant woman.”  I use this inclusive language because not all people who give birth identify as female or a woman.  I strongly believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and loved through their pregnancy and birth.  Using inclusive language is one way I can create a safe environment through this podcast.  Only you know the right choices for your body,  your baby and your birth.   I’m here to support & encourage you to share your needs and desires with your care team when the time comes to birth your baby because YOU are worthy of an exceptional birthing experience! If you are ready to hear all about birth - please tune in starting Tuesday December 22nd!!   I will be sharing new episodes every Tuesday - so be sure to subscribe and tune in!Until then, if you have a topic you are interested in hearing about or a birth story you’d like to share, please email me at Birth@KariGierach.com  You can also find me on instagram: @BirthwithKari.  And lastly, I invite you to join my  private facebook group to continue the conversation with other listeners!  It's going to be so fun to get to know you and learn from each other!   You can search facebook for Birth with Kari and join the group! I am so thankful you are here, I sincerely appreciate you listening and I send you love and light wherever you are today!
